The earnings justify this price though on the expensive side, but since its a growth stock, many willing to risk it and then the idea of a fuel subsidy project came into the newswire, it started to move above 3.00 again , and then a 1:1 bonus was called.

The rich valuations saw a massive profit taking....mainly by short term traders and contra kaki

Many who bought ...even at 3.00 at the 1:2 bonus level did not sell because the valuation at that time is justify and the profits translate to EPS is mind boggling !

assuming that at 3.00...you bought 2 shares,
after 1:2 bonus, it becomes 3 shares at 2.00 per share
after the 1 to 5 split, the 3 shares become 15 shares, and the cost is only 40 sen
after the 1:1 bonus, the 15 shares becomes 30 shares and its 20 sen per share at cost.

every time when a 1 sen dividend is given out, it translate to 5% comparing with our original cost, with that kind of yield, no initial owners of dsonic would sell its holdings ! That is why, many major shareholders are not selling. Why kill the goose that lays golden eggs ?

Have not come to this forum for a while, and alas, all I see is panic and chaos, and the negativity especially from those sitting on high horse, spewing their "I told you so.." mind set. Blame game has no value in this forum, so save it, whereas for those who got sun stroked due to too much exposure, I suggest go cool it off elsewhere.

This is my 2 sens worth;

Due to the lowering of the World Oil price, The government took the first step, to free the mechanism on price fixing of the RON95 and diesel. Its very different from what the masses assume "removal of subsidies in total" as understood.

If the World Oil price maintain low, or lower than the current state, the subsidies is a non issue anymore. But Oil is a strategic commodity, Its geopolitical sensitivity will not allow it to stay low price for long.

So, what will happen when it pick up in price again ? Yes, some people choose to live in an ideal world, no subsidies, all the poor work hard and make a good living ! This kind of people is just blind to their surrounding and removed themselves from reality. As they walk on carpets in their bally shoes and shout why need cobblers as their 3k shoes hardly got worn off.

The government still need a mechanism to counter this, I am not an insider, but I believe a mechanism will be announced soon. step by step, the fuel subsidies rationalisation mechanism will reveal itself, whereas, for Datasonic, without it, its still a good counter to hold long term, at current price, its fair price. Like I said very much earlier, dont buy for short term and stay away from CA, its timeline is not in your favour, why gamble on it ? Its a zero sum game, the only one who make money is the issuer.

This is the best case scenario, even at this if added 40sen/l import duty, its already 2.08.
