Icon8888, agree with you. Lots of recycled mumbo jumbo statements by PLCs but no substantiative reality in terms of shareholders benefit. For example, WCT has been parroting "monetizing their property assets into REITs," from one quarter report to another. NTPM has been recycling the same old melody of "because of forex rates and high tariff rates" when announcing dividends!

Diversity to balance risks in times of regional and global market volatility to ensure alternative streams of income for sustaining consistent dividend payment to shareholders may be a good idea. GUH is one of the few companies which have been returning consistent dividends in the past ten years no matter what the market conditions are.

NTPM Holding's Premier entry in Vietnam
STAR, Monday, 3 August 2015
By: DAVID TAN
NIBONG TEBAL: NTPM Holdings Bhd, the producer and brand owner of Premier tissue, is negotiating for a couple of orders worth about RM20mil per year for its new operations in Ho Chih Minh City, Vietnam.
Group managing director Lee See Jin told StarBiz that the orders were among the several business deals that the group were trying to seal for the new manufacturing entity in Vietnam.
“They are for monthly orders of 450 tonnes of tissue paper products to be consumed in the Vietnamese market, which is growing rapidly as the consumption level for tissue is still low.
“We expect to see orders rising in the next two months,” he said.
The new plant in Vietnam has the capacity to produce up to 1,000 tonnes of tissue products per month.
“Our actual production per month is 800 tonnes, running on one production line. There are plans to add another four production lines at the Vietnamese plant in the future.
“There are also plans to introduce personal care products such as sanitary napkins, diapers, wet wipes and facial cottons for the Vietnamese market,” he said.
Lee said the group had invested RM40mil to RM50mil in the Vietnamese operations, which would help it to grow about 3% a year in terms of revenue and bottom line.
NTPM currently has six plants in Malaysia – located in Penang, Parit Buntar in Perak, Bentong in Pahang, and Sabah – producing 220 tonnes of tissue products daily, of which about 30% are exported.
“Our maximum capacity is 330 tonnes daily.
“We still have room for expansion in Penang as the group has utilised only 60 acres of the 90 acres land bank in Nibong Tebal, where the present main plant is located,” Lee said.

Big brother, ks55. Your time-tested life experience have you made a close guess. I am four years your junior. Retiring four years from now. Pick up investment late, catapaulted into action after reading about financial literacy. Still a newbie in investing! But enjoy the course of the learning curve.
Like your 免后顾之忧 life philosophy. From the first I came across your comments in QCapita, sensed your self-confidence and composure grounded on a strong foundation of well-informed, pragmatically knowledgeable, penetrative insight and foresight of the intricacies of investing.
Realising the constraint of the space of public forum, I will not go into further details of personal things here.
Anyway, the reciprocal happy feeling of (virtually) meeting someone sharing common interest is indeed stimulating and enlivening!

Take care and warm regards.

The others like stocks, gold & silver, unit trusts, etc are for diversification and as multiple streams of steady passive income. My financial goals are to have a regular stream of income every month through the year from multiple sources of income.
