if not, the value investing may possibly become a value trap, and one may lose his patience not having seeing the fruit in his lifetime.

Bull run has been extended for quite some time. That's why value investing seem like losing out in the current situation. When the market crashed then only we talk.

Alex, according to your statement, that means if you can't find such opportunity, you should participate in crowd euphoria and dance as long others are dancing?
And I don't get the logic "if you can't find an undervalued stock priced at 50% discount, then it may possibly become a value trap"

value investing is good if you're able to find an undervalued stock priced at least 50% discount on its intrinsic value, and then buy that company, liquidate, pocket the cash. Then rinse and repeat.
