The NGOs nonsense are at it again. As Malaysian, i think we should stop buying from these international brands which did not do their own investigation and rely on botch media for their info on labour conditions in Malaysia....... First it is our glove makers, then this....not to mention the lies on other countries

The final results will be, without a job here on in their own country, these foreign workers will be sent back and suffer!!!

seems to target listed entities mostly iso murky large privates. headline seeker? social justice intent is commendable but who will step in to help the swathe of collaterally damaged left in the aftermath? for some, this means no food on the table. to be just right is not good enough. there has to be a righteous outcome.

Plenty of time for the Malaysian Gov to resolve this issue and they did nothing. All busy politicking. Stop blaming whistle-blower for exposing poor welfare of migrant workers. It is the responsibility of the gov and the hiring company to look after employees welfare. ATA IMS & GOV should be held accountable for shareholder's losses

Malaysia employers don't have the urge to hike productivity through employing foreign workers. It's a joke if you make a comparison the salary of Malaysian 20 years ago. Malaysia government should increase minimum wage and reduce reliance of foreign workers.

The issue of forced labor won't be ending if Malaysia insists employing foreign workers in a large scale.

Malaysia employers are paying peanuts to their local employees. Sooner or later our neighbor country salary scale would be catching up Malaysian.

It is a joke for Malaysian wanted their land to be a developed nation whilst their monthly paycheck staying at ridiculous low level. Pressure of forced labor could be seen benefited to Malaysia employees.

Malaysia listed entities earned big profit and yet paid local employees peanuts. Care our own land labor force first before foreign workers la.

if u look at the bright side, it eases the stress of foreign labour shortage in the country.

These workers prolly find a new job within days. If the new employer squeeze them again, just report them and find another jobs.

No ending of forced labor foreign workers issue when a listed entity enjoying huge profits from employing foreign workers worked for them. Pay higher to local workers working in the factory la.

Go back into history
Understand how this foreign workers were hired in mass quantity
This was the pre 2018 era where political warlords reined.
The way they were recruited
With a scheme that probably resulting in many scammed and mistreated.
Their dirty ways of living ( those who rented apartment or houses to companies for workers dormitories will tell you that), giving the impression as though they were mistreated and slaved.
Those that got the short ends of the stick becomes whistleblower.
They sing like canary, with added spice and flavour, never their own fault

The management of the companies cannot do much to correct the issue, as it is trans border and it is beyond the reach of the employers.
Whatever deal signed was made in their own land, by themselves, with their own countrymen as agent or recruiters. A bond or debt that is self inflicted to get out of a rut hole.

So, Malaysia is now infamous for the "forced labour" issue
From Plantations, to Gloves Factory, and now Electronics, later those
Furniture making ones will be named, as long as one makes decent
quarterly profits, and hires loads of these foreign workers, especially the high profile ones, those listed in KLSE and depends heavily on foreign business or MNC for businesses. You will be targeted.

ANDY HALL is just a crooked activists, making use of the situations, give it some twists to the actual facts and blame it on the employers in total. Someone needs to be bashed, in the mind of a white bully, but definitely not the "victims".
He even had a press conference last year on how the Foreign workers had their movement restricted.....while the whole nation were restricted at home due to MCO. He quoted a whistleblower on that too so as to paint a picture of mistreatment to push his slavery narratives.

If Malaysian Employers still do not wake up from this, prepare to suffer.

Hire more locals is the only way out.
if possible, forget about the foreigners,
phase them out in due time,
the bills for maintenance can be channeled into
paying decent wages, on the job vocational training,
instead of our youth wasting their prime years on the road
as food delivery boys, makes less in due course, but save from marauders like Andy Hall.

The Malaysian politicians are bunch of goons that lacks the intelligence to counter activists like this, they are good only at citing Quaranic verses, as lips services, or play dirty politics. They are only jaguh kampung, They are just too inferior in thinking and self esteem, In fact some even go along with the narratives to punish the local employers. The government that is chosen, by votes or by backdoor, will not and incapable to help.

In the end, listed entities should employ Malaysia workers and pay them higher or else migrate their labour intensive factories to another country.

This greedy govt is riddled with corruption. Only good for filling their own pockets @ the expense of the taxpayer. Zero concern for struggling foreign labourers.

Said forced labor but at the end of day the US and Europe companies are the one unwilling to pay higher procurement price. Are u expecting the suppliers here to increase their costs significantly to take care of the workers wellfare and wellbeings? If yes, then pay higher for the procurement price and insist the suppliers to comply with ESG standards. The reason they outsourced here is because of this cheap "forced labor". else why they want to outsource here and not produce the parts in Europe or US?

Like it or not, economy and politics goes together in a package at all times. If one country don't like it, simply shift to non western package lor.
