October 29, 2015: Asia Poly Holdings Bhd, which recently ventured into the e-commence business, is in talks with a local frozen and ready-to-eat food manufacturer about a possible acquisition.

Asia Poly’s newly appointed executive chairman Datuk Yeo Boon Leong said the group is keen to acquire a 30% stake in the food company to expand its business portfolio instead of only relying on its existing acrylic cast sheet business.

“We see the potential of the vendor,” Yeo told reporters after the group’s extraordinary general meeting (EGM) yesterday.

“We hope to conclude the deal by the first quarter of 2016 (1Q16),” he added. On its e-commence venture, Asia Poly chief executive officer Teoh Cheng Chuan said the group would recognise about 10% contribution from its investment in FDL Technology Sdn Bhd in the next financial year ending Dec 31, 2016 (FY16).

“We expect the contribution will increase to 20% in FY17,” he said. In July, Asia Poly bought a 30% stake in FDL Technology for RM2.4 million cash.

Under the share purchase agreement, FDL Technology will provide a profit guarantee of no less than RM2.5 million for FY16 and RM3.5 million for FY17.
