Good news: niise now classified as sick project thus will be cancelled, and myeg's myimms concession likely to be renewed since any other competitive system is yet to be introduced.

It's the WHO, WHO in Iris that has taken NIISE off MYEG and any other smaller players, not whether they have the ability, cash flow or know how to manage it. The initial set up of the operation nation wide would have cost them way over RM$900M. The NIISE project is worth over RM$3B on the low side. With $$$ like that flying around, MACC should seriously have a closer look at it. There is always going to be somebody trying to offer something and somebody taking something. Temptation is too great.

Why MYEG drop? Due to immigration dept will handle the transaction by themselves by using NIISE System. Now the project classified as sick project. The question now is whether immigration department can handle the project by 2025? If can what will happen to MYEG?
Next question is if MYEG are involved in bribes and how that will impact?

MACC probing former PM and son-in-law
KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is investigating a former prime minister and his son-in-law in relation to a lucrative government contract.

A source close to MACC said the investigations are focused on possible abuse of power in the award of the National Integrated Immigration System (NIISe).

"MACC is looking at how the contract was given and the company's links to those who were in power at the time," the source said.

There have been suggestions that NIISe, which is being developed to replace the Immigration Department's existing foreign workers registration mechanism by 2025 is a sick project.

KUALA LUMPUR: Dua institusi pelaburan berkaitan kerajaan (GLIC), Kumpulan Wang Simpanan Pekerja (KWSP) dan Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan) (KWAP) meningkatkan pegangan dalam MyEG Services Bhd dalam urus niaga masing-masing pada 2 dan 7 Februari lalu.

Susulan itu, KWSP ketika ini memiliki pegangan langsung sebanyak 512.966 juta saham atau 6.897 peratus dalam MyEG.

Sementara itu, KWAP pula memiliki pegangan langsung sebanyak 454.129 juta saham atau 6.17 peratus dan pegangan tidak langsung 88.299 juta saham atau 1.187 peratus dalam MyEG. Pegangan keseluruhannya adalah 542.429 juta saham.

KWSP menambah pegangan saham dalam MyEG sejak Disember tahun lalu. Setakat ini, ia telah membeli 12.8 juta saham secara keseluruhan.

Dalam pemfailan berasingan kepada Bursa Malaysia, My EG memaklumkan Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan) telah membeli 17.37 juta saham syarikat itu dan turut menjual 8.07 juta saham. Kedua-dua urus niaga itu berlaku di pasaran terbuka pada 7 Februari.

MyEG kekal menjadi kaunter antara paling aktif didagangkan, selepas harga sahamnya jatuh ke paras terendah 26 bulan pada 7 Februari lalu.

Gelombang jualan itu tercetus berikutan laporan semua perkhidmatan dan proses imigresen akan kembali semula kepada Jabatan Imigresen menjelang 2025, termasuk yang diuruskan oleh pihak ketiga seperti MyEG.

Ketua Pengarah Imigresen, Khairul Dzaimee Daud ketika dipetik New Straits Time (NST), berkata langkah itu susulan pelaksanaan Sistem Imigresen Bersepadu Kebangsaan (NIISe), di mana RM900 juta diperuntukkan kepada Kementerian Dalam Negeri.

Menurut NST, Khairul berkata, NIISe menjadi pemangkin perubahan menambah baik kecekapan jabatan itu termasuk memudahkan pengguna.

"Saya kadang-kadang menerima laporan gangguan teknikal dalam Sistem Imigresen Malaysia (myIMMs), di mana kita sudah menggunakannya hampir 13 tahun. NIISe akan menggantikan sistem itu dalam tempoh dua tahun.

"NIISe juga akan menggantikan semua transaksi imigresen, termasuk visa, permit kerja dan permohonan serta pembaharuan pasport, selain pemeriksaan di lapangan terbang dan pelabuhan," katanya.

Berdasarkan laporan media sebelum ini juga, pada Julai 2020, Putrajaya memberi lanjutan tiga tahun kepada MyEG menguruskan pembaharuan dalam talian pas lawatan kerja sementara bagi pekerja asing. Kontrak itu dianggarkan bernilai RM208 juta.

Khairul berkata, sistem baharu dijangka menamatkan barisan panjang dan tempoh menunggu lama di kaunter imigresen di lapangan terbang kerana urusan dilakukan automatik.

"Contohnya, kita mampu mengurangkan jumlah kaunter manual dari 38 (kini) kepada 15. Lebih ramai pelawat luar juga dibenar menggunakan e-gates.

"Bagaimanapun, sudah pasti kita tidak boleh membenarkan semuanya melalui e-gates kerana faktor keselamatan," katanya.

NIISe membabitkan pangkalan data bersepadu lebih 20 agensi di negara ini, termasuk polis dan Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara (JPN).

Khairul berkata, permohonan pasport lebih mudah dengan pangkalan data bersepadu itu memandangkan pihak jabatan secara mudah menentusahkan sebarang maklumat dengan JPN.

Dalam pada itu, syarikat berkenaan dalam pengumuman kepada Bursa Malaysia petang semalam berkata, syarikat itu tidak mengadakan sebarang pertemuan dengan kerajaan berhubung langkah untuk meletakkan semua transaksi berkaitan imigresen di bawah Sistem Imigresen Bersepadu Kebangsaan (NIISe).

MyEG berkata, tiada sebarang perbincangan antara Lembaga Pengarahnya dengan Kementerian Dalam Negeri (KDN) atau Jabatan Imigresen Malaysia (JIM) mengenai cadangan kerajaan menyatukan semua transaksi imigresen di bawah NIISe.

"Lembaga Pengarah akan membuat pengumuman berkaitan kepada Bursa Malaysia sekiranya terdapat sebarang maklumat penting termasuk di bawah Keperluan Penyenaraian Pasaran Utama," katanya.

We had a conversation with the management following the news implying MyEG will no longer be involved in the nation’s immigration system by 2025. The related concession business comprises c.10% of MyEG’s FY23E revenue, and its ancillary business could also be impacted. We make no change to our earnings forecasts, though our TP is cut to MYR1.01 (-26%) as we change our valuation methodology to SOTP (PER previously). Maintain BUY; its new businesses could grow to fill the void by then.

KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia has suspended the short selling of MY E.G. Services Bhd's (MyEG) shares for the rest of the day under proprietary day trading (PDT) and intraday short selling (IDSS).

The suspension was made after the e-government services provider's stock dropped more than 15 per cent, or 15 sent, from the reference price.

As at 10.15am, MyEG Services Bhd slumped 19.5 sen or 20.42 per cent to 76 sen, amid news that all immigration services and processes would be fully managed by the Immigration Department by 2025.

"The short selling under PDT and IDSS will only be activated the following trading day, on Wednesday, at 08:30 am," Bursa said today.

The New Straits Times reported on Monday that by 2025, all immigration-related affairs, including those now managed by outside parties, such as MyEG, would revert to the Immigration.

Besides passport renewals and visa applications, applications and renewals of foreign worker and maid permits would be handled by the department when it rolls out its National Integrated Immigration System (NIISe), the Immigration director-general Datuk Khairul Dzaimee Daud told the NST.

Under the current Malaysian Immigration System (MyMIMMs), some services - termed "patch-on" services - are outsourced to independent contractors.

Meanwhile, Affin Hwang Capital downgraded MyEG to "Hold" from "Buy" with a lower target price of 93 sen from RM1.23 on heightened policy risks.

"Broadly, we expect the news and policy risks to weaken investors' interest in MyEG, considering the material revenue contribution from its immigration-related businesses.

"On the other hand, MyEG's steady 2022-2024 earnings outlook, stable revenue from the road-transport businesses, exciting new business opportunities, and potential business opportunities from NIISe related works should help support its share price," it said in a note today.

Affin Hwang, however, maintained MyEG 2022-2024 earnings forecasts.

"We now peg our price target at 19x 2023 price earnings ratio (PER) (from 25x), in line with MyEG's five-year average PER."
