KUALA LUMPUR (Apr 16): Integrated engineering solutions provider Kelington Group Bhd has secured new orders worth RM77.5 million in the first quarter of 2018 (1Q18), bringing the group’s total outstanding orderbook to RM267.3 millon.

“We are also bidding for new projects worth RM500 million across our key operating markets," Kelington chief executive officer Raymond Gan said in a statement today.

Kelington said the bulk or 85% of the new orders came from the ultra high purity segment, for the company to provide specialised engineering services for the semiconductor and electronic manufacturing companies. Most of the new contract wins were mainly contributed from China, followed by Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan.

"The new contracts will be completed within a year and are expected to contribute positively to Kelington’s financial performance for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2018," it added.

Gan said the company is encouraged by its growing replenishment of orders, especially as most of them are from repeat customers.

"The group has been able to consistently capture a share of the global semiconductor capital expenditure spending of large international players every year," he said.

Going forward, Gan said Kelington will focus on providing more innovative engineering solutions to ensure it stays ahead in this fast-changing landscape.

At 4.24pm, Kelington shares were unchanged at 72.5 sen per share, with 50,600 shares done, bringing it a market capitalisation of RM178.28 million.
