Cimb also good for long term investment. Once you bought it, don't worry about the negative effects. Log term investors with holding power always a winner. Trust me. I been investing over 20 years. Banking shares always at risks during economy down turn but always the first to recover when economy turns good. Just hold on tight and if possible buy more when the price drop. Don't let negative comments to influence you. Only short term investors & contra players get burn. Good luck.

According to MIDF Research, the cumulative net foreign inflow thus far this year into shares listed on Bursa has surpassed the RM1bil level. As of last Friday, the year-to-date cumulative flow into Bursa increased to an estimated RM1.26bil from RM959.3mil the week prior.

“For the last five weeks, the Malaysian capital markets have seen a net inflow of foreign funds. This has resulted in some stability in its equity market and buoyancy in its bond market,” says MIDF.

Most Banks (Maybank, CIMB, Ambank, AffinBank) are non-syariah compliant stocks. EPF has to sell them to reduce it and prepare cash for shariah-compliant stocks purchasing under New Syariah-compliant scheme for its members.

Dividend ex-date today.

Virtually for every counter, share price will be adjusted downward because the dividends being paid out will reduce the total assets (or total equity) of the business. Hence the market capitalisation (share price x shares outstanding) will be reduced to reflect the said reason.

Quite ridiculous to me personally but that's the way it is.
