New KLCI constituent MAHB up 3.48%

KUALA LUMPUR (Jun 1): Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd’s (MAHB) shares rose as much as 3.48% at mid-morning today, ahead of its debut as a constituent of the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI on June 18.

At 10.35am, the airport operator became the third top gainer across Bursa Malaysia, as it traded 29 sen or 3.48% higher at RM8.62.

At the current share price, a total of 862,500 shares were traded, giving it a market capitalisation of RM14.1 billion.

Over the past 12 months, the counter has fallen some 0.29%.

Yesterday, FTSE Russell and Bursa Malaysia announced three changes to constituents of the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI, following the semi-annual review of the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Index Series.

Hartalega Holdings Bhd, Dialog Group Bhd and MAHB had replaced YTL Corp Bhd, AMMB Holdings Bhd and Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd in the index, according to the statement.

The KLCI reserve list, comprising the five highest-ranking non-constituents of the index by market capitalisation, will be used in the event one or more constituents are deleted from the FBM KLCI in accordance with the index ground rules during the period up to the next semi-annual review, the statement added.

The constituent changes take effect on June 18 and the next review will take place in December.

"The new additions for the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Mid 70 Index are YTL Corp, AMMB, QL Resources Bhd, Astro, Magnum Bhd, ViTrox Bhd, Velesto Energy Bhd, Supermax Corp Bhd, Kerjaya Prospek Group Bhd and TA Global Bhd," FTSE Russell and Bursa Malaysia said.

These will replace Hartalega, Dialog, MAHB, UMW Holdings Bhd, Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Bhd, CapitaLand Malaysia Mall Trust, Eastern & Oriental Bhd, Lingkaran Trans Kota Holdings Bhd, 7-Eleven Malaysia Holdings Bhd and WCT Holdings Bhd.
