"This includes stepping up coordination with government-linked companies and government-linked investment companies to encourage them to repatriate foreign investment income and convert that income into ringgit more consistently, playing their roles to support the ringgit amidst challenging global environment," BNM noted.

Dividend investing is like planting a tree...

The earlier you start, the bigger your tree is going to grow.

And before you know it, you will be resting in the shade of your own financial forest, enjoying the fruits of your labor, year after year...

Why?

Because dividends... GROW.

And that's how some Dividend Machines reached their milestones in dividends.

For the past 10 years...

DBS (Bank) increased their dividends by 158%
Wilmar (Plantation) increased their dividends by 112%
So if you think $5,000 in annual dividends today is too little...

Your $5,000 'passive' income just became:

$12,900 if you invested in DBS
$10,600 if you invested in Wilmar
All you did is buying the right dividend stocks...

...And wait

Get paid in year 1...

...And wait

Get paid more in year 2...

...And wait

Get paid even more in year 3...

A decent end to FY23

CIMBs FY23 earnings were above expectations, and we have raised our FY24-26E earnings forecasts by 4-6%. Nevertheless, our FY24E ROE of 10.5% trails managements target of 11-11.5%. Our TP is raised to MYR7.40 (+70sen), on a higher FY24E PBV of 1.1x (1.0x previously). A special DPS of 7sen has been declared. BUY maintained.

JAKARTA (Bloomberg): Indonesia’s Defence Minister Prabowo Subianto, who has claimed victory in last month’s presidential election, signaled that he will uphold fiscal prudence and maintain a steady hand on the economy once he’s in the driver’s seat.

Prabowo, in a speech Tuesday at the Mandiri Investment Forum, said he is targeting economic growth of 8% in the next five years, while keeping focus on expanding the tax base and maintaining fiscal discipline. He said he will push for a tax revenue target of about 14%-16% of gross domestic product by ensuring wider compliance without necessarily resorting to more levies.

(March 7): Indonesian stocks rose to a record high, buoyed by optimism over the country’s prospects amid a push by leaders for faster economic growth.

The Jakarta Composite Index advanced 0.6% to 7,373.964, surpassing a peak set in January. Materials and infrastructure stocks were among the biggest gainers.

Defence Minister Prabowo Subianto — who secured majority support in February’s presidential election, based on quick counts — is targeting economic growth of 8% in the next five years. He has also pledged to maintain fiscal discipline and continue with existing economic policies.

“The clarity over elections supported an already compelling macro story with investors now assuming that economic policy would be largely unchanged,” said Sat Duhra, a fund manager at Janus Henderson Group.

The official results of the vote will be announced by March 20.

A stronger economic outlook is also helping to boost the Southeast Asian country’s banks, which is the best performing sector on the stock gauge so far this year. Financial shares have drawn “more than seven trillion rupiah (RM2.1 billion) of net foreign buying in January alone,” according to Tareck Horchani, head of prime brokerage dealing at Maybank Securities Pte.

“There is also confidence in Bank Indonesia in continuing to manage well the inflation and start the cut cycle soon, toward the end of” second quarter, Horchani said.

Its vice president of research Thong Pak Leng said the banking sector continues to offer opportunities for investors, supported by robust earnings resilience.

"Loans growth remained decent circa 5-6% while net interest margin (NIM) will remain stable for the year amid a more stable interest rate regime," he told reporters during a virtual media briefing on Rakuten Trade's 2Q2024 market outlook.

Within the banking sector, Rakuten Trade picked RHB Bank Bhd, Malayan Banking Bhd and CIMB Group Holdings Bhd for their solid dividend yields
