Fm the more recent ones namely export themes, crack spread 1.0, steel 1.0, glove, tech, steel 2.0 etc

Do not leave the refinery when the crack spread is at its peak above USD 20 mah!

Remember refinery still can make reasonable profit, eventhough the crack spread is at USD 4 loh!

Actualy most theme play reached their peaks within few months, then will be distributing times...

For example, glove co reached their peaks in Aug or Sep 2020 then come out with bonus issues n good div to trap waterfish.....

The rest is history

In between we saw a lot of sifu or inv bankers worked out their profit projection on Q profits but prices went down n down months b4 the best Q result of glove co....

If u check the historical price vs Q result u will hv a better idea

Why Refinery Crack Spread at stubbornly high price leh ??

This is bcos of ESG mah! Investing in refinery require high capex in the billions mah!

Bcos of emphasis.....in ESG no one dares to invest in new refinery as they fear they could not recouped its capital, eventhough there is a shortage in capacity loh!

As a result they continue to run the refinery old junk to milk & accumulate as much profit they can get loh!

Despite President Biden urge the USA Refinery to increase capacity, the owner just give the President a very cool reception loh!

Palm oil should not sold at a discount to soybean oil because palm oil is a more healthy oil.

As of price movement, it will depend on whether the weather is kind enough on the seasonal oil crops planting and havesting.

you hit the nail on its head !
Many experienced the ghost in glove and see ghost everywhere now. There is no ghost in refinery, at least not until price rocketed to euphoric stage .
It is very common to experience 10-20% price correction even in many solid counters due to during nervous market sentiment. Such price correction had nothing to do with fundamental change of a business but largely market sentiment. Many can not tell the difference.
For plantation counter like Bplant, we have witnessed 10-20% prices pullback in multiple times since early 2021. In the end , it has surged 100% even with last week’s pullback. Last week pullback will be just one of the many pullbacks we have gone thru . Meanwhile, enjoy the exceptionally handsome dividend from Bplant and others .
