KUALA LUMPUR (March 10): Genting (GENTING, 3182, main board consumer stock) holds 20.3% of the British pharmaceutical company TauRx, in the latest Alzheimer's disease (commonly known as dementia) drug research and development report lack of breakthroughs, leading to the Shares suffered heavy losses today. Genting's share price dropped 34 sen or 6.54% to close at RM4.86 at the open this morning.

This type of news need to be careful. Firstly, the date is wrong (March 10). Next, Taurx Pharmaceuticals Ltd is a Singapore company with research facilities in Aberdeen, Scotland. This is officially a 12 month trial, then open label for another 12 more months whereby the placebo patients will also take 16mg active dose after completing the official 12 month trial duration. Taurx do not need another open label extra 12 months to confirm its drug effectiveness for regulatory submissions.

Those untrue rubbish reports abt Taurx flying around on internet could be planted by whales to cause a plunge in share price. As a 0.7% shareholder of Taurx, I know this company for 18 years and they are usually conservative when making their claims.

Read the trial announcement:
"....participants receiving HMTM decline at a rate substantially less than is typical in Alzheimer’s based on published research. This was seen for both cognitive and functional endpoints across a broad range of severity from mild cognitive impairment (MCI) to moderate Alzheimer’s. Importantly, the safety profile is favourable and consistent with previous studies."

The facts are as above, it is what it is. Just wait for Taurx's official announcement for Lucidity's full trial result even though i heard of some very stunningly positive endpoint measurements data from fellow Taurx investors.

Fed will hike June/July rate by 50 bps or more each and THAT IS IT! No more hike after July. Anymore increase after July will tip the economy into a recession and the Feb and especially the US Administration will not want to see a recession during an election year in November. Once that happens the markets will rocket (esp Nasdaq) and happy time is here again!!!

Very strange comments form some on this forum. Chairman ones large quantities of shares in the company and sells less than 0.50% and panic is created. People don’t realise shares were sold for a purpose …and we know the purpose ….to invest in Cruise business …so why surprised! Timing might a bit an issue, otherwise perfectly ok. Some would say the TauRX announcements were engineered? To me nothing has changed in terms of potential returns with or without TauRX. TauRX expectations totally unrealistic and mismanaged in terms of expectations …..some expecting unrealistically positive outcome immediately…the fact is there is positive progress and support from various bodies but to get approval it will take time subject final results…
