DAP lawmaker Liew Chin Tong has questioned the government’s decision to appoint MCA’s Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun as a special envoy to deal with family members of the Chinese nationals on board MH370.
"We have the ambassador to China, prime minister's special envoy to China, as well as Wisma Putra, is all this not enough to deal with this issue?, the Kluang MP asked.
MP wants minister's head over 'electoral apartheid'
DAP's Serdang MP Ong Kian Ming has demanded that Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Shahidan Kassim resign from his ministerial post with immediate effect for suggesting "electoral apartheid".
Coming back to LSG. Who has the control stake in LSG? We all should know who is that person related to? Now Khazanah seemed to be blaming MAS management for all the problems MAS is facing. This is most unfair and irresponsible of Khazanah, a national incorporation entrusted with looking after are national wealth. Of course, MAS management is not perfect just like any other company. Khazanah’s chairman, Tan Sri Azman Mokthar, should touch his heart and ask why MAS is in such a sorry state? Was it engineered or just sheer incompetence or by chance? By whichever management standard one would like to set to measure MAS performance, it falls squarely on Khazanah for failing in its national duties to address whatever problems MAS was facing at the material times. For a start, Khazanah should stop the handing over of the lucrative business of servicing and catering to LSG but it didn’t lift a finger to stop. I hope that Khazanah was not instrumental in the whole exercise of LSG’s take over of the said business.
Surely Tan Sri Azman is fully aware of the lucrative catering business in the airline industry in Malaysia was taken from MAS and handed over in a silver plater to LSG Sky Chef Brahim Sdn Bhd (LSG) during the Pak Lah’s administration sometimes in 2004 to service and cater for all National and most International Airlines flying to and from Kuala Lumpur. It is believed that the contractual terms are one sided and unusually long!
Why is Tan Sri Azman not interested in finding ways and means to take back this lucrative business of servicing and catering for all airline in and out of KLIA with government help in the national interest for MAS? Why when AirAsia FAKS gave up Rural Air Services (RAS) PREMATURELY, Khazanah did not demand for the return of the subsidy of RM65 million from FAKS? Why Khazanah did not demand for the payment of RM35 million, which was incurred by MAS to make the 7 aircraft airworthy for RAS, from AirAsia FAKS? These are enough glaring facts for Tan Sri Azman to ponder!
Don't need god to determine the future of MAS. It's going bankrupt if no government bail out. If government bail out will cost a few more billions of tax payers monies to pay for death claims and so on. But the question is if MAS were to be bailed out, would it be able to make money post bail out where a load factor of 85% could not bring profit? So the rationale is to let it go down by appointing a liquidator or go for bankruptcy protection whichever come first. Restructure and revive later. It would then be a stronger animal.
most of the death claims will be covered by insurance policies, common for all airlines companies... heavily insured... various options to turnaround MAS and not necessarily government to pump in money again. M&A, etc etc ... fingers crossed
declaring bankruptcy for MAS is politically suicidal for BN... MAS wont go the same road as JAL... Japan is a first world country.... moreover, JAL issues are not the same as MAS. :)
i have doubt here...did MH370 take off from klia?how they know MH370 plunged into indian ocean...another story of government to foolish its people...till now they hiding something..bast@$&s....MAS better close downla...humilatingggggg
A blessing in disguise for mas due to mh370. Now mas must prove to the world it is different for survival, not the same again , time is running out like the black box :)
At 21sen, less than 1/12 of airasia share price, worth taking the risk to buy n hold mas now.plane missing is the worst incident that could happen to an airlines, what can be worse than this incident? :)
Malaysia changes final words of MH370 pilot Authorities change pilot's last words to control tower, amid criticism of their handling of MH370 disappearance. Last updated: 31 Mar 2014 18:42
Malaysia says the plane was likely to have been diverted deliberately far off course [AP] The last words spoken by one of the pilots of the missing Malaysian Airlines plane to the control tower were "Good night Malaysian three seven zero", Malaysia's civil aviation authority said, changing its previous account of the last message as being a more casual "All right, good night."
The correction of the official account of the last words was made as Malaysian authorities continued to face heavy criticism for their handling of the disappearance, particularly from families of the Chinese passengers on board Flight MH370 who have accused Malaysia of mismanaging the search and withholding information.
"We would like to confirm that the last conversation in the transcript between the air traffic controller and the cockpit is at 0119 (Malaysian Time) and is "Good night Malaysian three seven zero," the Department of Civil Aviation said in a statement on Monday, according to the Reuters news agency.
Malaysia's ambassador to China told Chinese families in Beijing as early as March 12, four days after the flight went missing, that the last words had been "All right, good night."
"Good night Malaysian three seven zero" would be a more formal, standard sign-off from the cockpit of the Boeing 777, which was just leaving Malaysia-controlled airspace on its route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.
Minutes later its communications were cut off and it turned back across Malaysia and headed towards the Indian Ocean.
Search effort
More than three weeks later, a huge international search effort is taking place in the southern Indian Ocean, off western Australia, but has so far failed to turn up any wreckage.
The statement from the aviation authority came after Acting Transport Minister Hishammuddin Hussein was questioned at a news conference on Monday about the last words from the cockpit and fended off demands to release the official transcript.
The statement said authorities were still conducting a "forensic investigation" to determine whether the last words from the cockpit were by the pilot or the co-pilot.
Previously, Malaysia Airlines said the words were believed to have come from the co-pilot.
The civil aviation department said the investigating team had been instructed to release the full transcript at the next briefing with relatives.
Malaysia says the plane, which disappeared less than an hour into its flight, was likely to have been diverted deliberately far off course.
Investigators have determined no apparent motive or other red flags among the 227 passengers or the 12 crew.
About two-thirds of the passengers were Chinese nationals.

"MALAYSIA HAS NEARLY 1000 TIMES MORE WATER THAN SINGAPORE. AND YET I DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH WATER TO BRUSH MY TEETH."
Bob Teoh hits the nail on the head with his criticism of the way Malaysia manages its water resources. Compare the ridiculousness of our situation brought on by poor management and zero foresight with Singapore which has built up its water security over the past 50 years:
"According to Singapore’s Public Utilities Board website, over the last 50 years, through strategic planning and investment in research and technology, Singapore’s national water agency PUB has built a robust and diversified supply of water known as the ‘Four National Taps’. The water supply comprises local catchment water, imported water, highly-purified reclaimed water known as NEWater, and desalinated water.
"The pillar of Singapore’s water sustainability is NEWater which is reclaimed water produced from treated used water that is ultra-clean and safe to drink. By 2060, NEWater capacity can meet up to 55 per cent of Singapore’s future water demand.
"Another technology-based water source is desalinated water. Singapore has one of Asia’s largest seawater reverse-osmosis plant. By 2060, desalination water can meet up to 25 per cent of its water demand in the long term. Its second bilateral water agreement with Malaysia expires in 2061
"Today, Singapore’s vibrant water ecosystem has a thriving cluster of 100 international and local water companies and 25 research centres, according to PUB. Singapore is set a global hydrohub.
"Guess who’s the brains behind Singapore’s NEWater? A thirty something Dr Adrian Yeo, a Malaysian, founder of two previous start up companies, with a PhD in 2007 and recipient of several awards, including the Nanyang Award for Humanity, Asian Development Bank’s Water Champion and the Watermark Award.
"We are not only giving away our water virtually free to Singapore we are also giving away our priceless brains Dr Yeo’s."
Just imagine if the Umno Baru-led BN government had been able to rise above racism and corruption, and spend the last half century addressing national security issues – food, water, defence – with the help of talents of Adrian Yeo.
Let the private handles even water luke what ytl dud in bath uk, no water issue there at all. Whatever biz the politicians touch, likely to fail eg proton, mas, pkfz, etc etc :)
Dr Adrian and many many more talents that had left malaysia boleh had not regreted for leaving but are currently contributing their valuable and brilliant ideas to their new homeland that had extended and accepted the pendatangs with warmness and sincerity!
Even for proton, fiund buyer. Just a pricing issue for mas. Khazanah wanted 60sen or higher per share for mas reported by one maybank analyst last year. Those who have the confidence to turn it around would buy. Be patient :)
This book is the result of the author's many years of experience and observation throughout his 26 years in the stockbroking industry. It was written for general public to learn to invest based on facts and not on fantasies or hearsay....
