Starting on Thursday, Big Oil companies in Europe and the U.S. will begin reporting their third quarter results. The five best-known oil majors— Exxon Mobil (XOM), Chevron (CVX), Shell (SHEL), BP ( BP ) and TotalEnergies (TTE)—are on track to earn $50 billion collectively, up from $15 billion a year earlier but down from about $60 billion in the second quarter. Add in Norwegian giant Equinor (EQNR) and earnings could reach $57 billion. Shell and TotalEnergies TTE +1.88% report on Thursday, with Exxon, Chevron and Equinor going on Friday. BP releases earnings next Tuesday.

The expected earnings decline from second-quarter highs is due to lower oil prices in the third quarter and a decline in margins for refining and chemicals businesses. “The third quarter was the first time in nine consecutive quarters the average oil price sequentially fell, causing free cash flow for most oil-levered operators to decline versus the record highs of the second quarter,” wrote Truist analyst Neal Dingmann.

In a pre-earnings release, Exxon told investors that its chemicals and refining businesses were down compared with the second quarter. In the second quarter, tight refining capacity and high demand caused margins for gasoline and diesel to soar. Margins remain high, especially for diesel, but have dropped for other products like gasoline.

EPS = 2.00 is good enough for Hengyuan.
Cumulative EPS for 3 quarters will be = 2.38+2.00 = 4.38.
No stock listed in KLSE has this type EPS.
The share price of Hengyuan is very undervalued.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. and Western officials are finalizing plans to impose a cap on Russian oil prices amid a warning from the World Bank that any plan will need active participation of emerging market economies to be effective.

Officials said no price range has been decided yet, however one person familiar with the process said the cap will be determined in line with the historical average of $63-64 a barrel - a level that could form a natural upper limit.

Such a level is in line with recent comments by Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen that a price cap in the $60 range would give Russia an incentive to keep producing oil.

The administration of President Joe Biden has seen the price cap as a way to cut oil revenues for Russia, a major source of its funding for its war against Ukraine, while keeping Russian oil flowing and avoiding price spikes.

The actual price will be set in coming weeks ahead of the planned Dec. 5 launch of a European embargo on Russian oil and associated restrictions on transportation and insurance of seaborne oil.

Oil rose for a third day after the US reported record exports of crude and fuel and a softer dollar made commodities more attractive.

West Texas Intermediate climbed above $88 a barrel after gaining almost 4% over the prior two sessions. Total US petroleum exports hit 11.4 million barrels a day last week, government data showed. The surge came with domestic fuel inventories at historic seasonal lows, highlighting a tightening supply outlook.

After racking up four consecutive monthly losses as concerns about a global slowdown gained traction and central banks raised interest rates, crude has rebounded in October after the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries and its allies announced a major output cut. Investors have also been gauging the likely impact of plans by the European Union and US to punish Moscow further for its invasion of Ukraine, including a proposal to cap prices.

US officials have been forced to scale back the price-cap plan ahead of its potential implementation this quarter, according to people familiar with the matter. Instead of strangling the Kremlin’s oil revenues by imposing a strict lid on prices, the US and EU are now likely to settle for a more loosely policed limit that’s imposed at a higher price than once envisioned.

Valero, Shell posts bumper profit, so Heng Yuan should follow suit. Shortage of refiners, that s why many countries want to build Refineries. Q3/22 profit of Rm 2, and year profit of RM6/, very undervalued. Profit is in the waiting for market to realize that fair price should be higher !!

EPS = 2.22

Hengyuan refined 46% of its refined product as diesel.
