Ular decided to cut loss Credit Su liao. After reading reporters tulis many bankers downgraded Credit Su and ada yang cerita Credit Su no hope liao. So scary. Ular cutloss this time. Luckily not that much loss only lower single digit loss after pre market ada up just now. Haiyoh. Correct?

ZURICH (Reuters) - Credit Suisse shares looked set to continue their slide on Friday after the bank's reported its latest heavy losses on Thursday and the Swiss regulator said it was watching the situation 'very closely."

The bank's shares were indicated 1.1% lower in premarket activity on the Swiss Market Index on Friday.

Credit Suisse's stock fell 14.7% on Thursday to 2.77 francs, valuing the lender at 11.1 billion Swiss francs after results which were described by one shareholder as "catastrophic".

Switzerland's second biggest bank also warned on Thursday that a further "substantial" loss was to be expected this year, as clients pulled out billions from the bank which has been engulfed by a series of scandals and blunders.

In a statement on Thursday, Swiss regulator Finma said that while Credit Suisse's liquidity buffers had a stabilising effect on the bank and are being rebuilt, the regulator "monitors banks very closely during such situations".

A string of banks downgraded their outlook for Credit Suisse's shares on Friday. Morgan Stanley, Barclays, and RBS all cut their target prices, contributing to the negative sentiment around Credit Suisse.

The ambition of the frayed management at Credit Suisse is to ditch casino banking and to make a comeback as a wealth manager. It may not seem an impossible task.

Yet the idea that, somehow, Credit Suisse will ever again be a name to be trusted for keeping the savings of the world’s rich safe is fanciful.

The super-rich across the globe decided to pull an astounding £100billion of funds out of the Swiss bank in the final three months of the year as confidence in its survival faded.

There is no shortage of other more solidly anchored enterprises such as Goldman Sachs, which is making a big push into European wealth management, offering safer havens.

That may be more valuable to Europe’s financial elites than the tax advantages which once gave the gnomes of Zurich an edge.

But with such staggering outflows, there are big questions as to whether Credit Suisse, which raised new capital in November, has much of a future.

As part of the rebuild plan it is spinning out investment banking.

It recently spent £135million on buying a former board member’s advisory boutique.

There is a long way to go for the investment bank, given that trading revenues were just £12.5million last year.

The notion of a new Credit Suisse First Boston, arising phoenix-like from the ashes and being sold off for a pot of gold, might be wishful thinking.
