HLB looks good for the extra US100M pumped into Empire. Actually i have same thought, to me it is not so bad to buy additional shares of the Empire Resorts because you can see it is starting making money now.

In addition, Empire also opened up the opportunity for the group to (i) win the bid in mobile sports betting license in Mar 2022; and (ii) expand and operate its new Resorts World Hudson Valley (RWHV), a 90k sqft facility featuring 1.2k video lottery terminals, a bar and a lounge, which is targeted to open in Dec 2022. The opening of RWHV is expected to contribute positively to Empire’s earnings in the coming quarters given that it’s a low capex venture resulting in only marginal incremental depreciation expense post opening.

Comparing GenS (Genting Singapore) and GenM (Genting Malaysia) is just like comparing the countries' performance. Singapore keeps on out-performing and Malaysia keeps chasing its tail.
GenM is cheap (on valuation, etc) but with high debts and GenS has better operating metrics & margins. GenS shr price keeps climbing up!
Solution for GenM : Sell off all Miami assets fast. 2022-2023 is peak for Miami real-estate prices. Why wait for US$1.5 B to sell?

Lottery Development in New York : It's sole mission is to earn revenue for education. It started as an entertainment business, now it supports education statewide. To maintain financial integrity, the lottery's financial drawings and financial statements are monitored and audited independently.
MY education system needs a revamp and funds to upgrade. If all tax collected from gaming companies are disbursed to the MY Education dept (monitored and audited independently), then this may stop leakages and contributions by gaming companies to politicians and political parties. Then, approving more gaming licences and granting extra lottery draws should not be an issue when there is an election as all are committed to the support of education. Should there be a nexus between gaming companies and schools....? Else, both will lose lose....

KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 16): Two people are dead and more than 50 are missing after a landslide struck a campsite in Malaysia early on Friday, officials said, as search and rescue personnel scoured the site for survivors.

The landslide in Selangor state, on the outskirts of capital, Kuala Lumpur, occurred about 3 a.m. (1900 GMT) on the side of a road near a farmhouse that provides camping facilities, the state fire and rescue department said in a statement.

A total of 79 people were caught in the landslide and 23 had been found safe, the department said. In addition to the two dead, three were injured and 51 were still missing.

The landslide fell from an estimated height of 30 metres (100 ft) above the campsite, and covered an area of about one acre (0.4 hectare), the department's director, Norazam Khamis,

said.

The disasterstruck just outside the Genting Highlands, a scenic hill country area in Batang Kali district, north of the capital that is popular for its resorts and natural beauty.

Selangor is the country's most affluent state and has suffered landslides before, often attributed to forest and land clearance.

The region is in its rainy season but no heavy rain or earthquakes were recorded overnight.

A year ago, about 21,000 people were displaced by flooding from torrential rain in seven states across the country.
