No Canone offer...Big holder use private offer to park big jewel in their pocket Understand?? We all lose out ...Canone / Kianjoo / Boxpak minority all lose out
Although canone can get back 100% gain compare their initial cost of $1.65 in kianjoo but the company lose out the future strong business growing in,kianjoo.
Canone big shareholder park kianjoo business in their private pocket by using third party offer to let them vote in the coming EGM of kianjoo..
On the contrary, as a minority holder of Canone, i will not give middle finger to Canone MD/CEO, I will give thumbs up...because today Canone share fly up upon resuming trading,..up 0.30 to 0.40
But as minority holder of KJoo, i will give middle finger to KJoo management...up by only few cents...for a company with such potential..privatise at undervalued price
buy more, the enlarged entity, canone / kj / bpack will emerged as a "monopoly", very influential.....and with EPF as the institutional investor....more power
I have called up chinese media Sinchew to make following report on this unfair offer.Regarding minorities shareholders interest protect. Pls send your complaints to business@sinchew.com.my to voice up your views on this proposals.
Actually Canone/Kianjoo/Boxpak can be a prefect group because all the cans plus packaging business under one roofs can have the best synerhic power in handing the pricing and costing.
What a waste if Canone let the directors privatize Kianjoo, put the group most jewel crown under their pocket.
Alibii I think canone is worth RM6. Canone 152m shares. Based on net profit (excludes kianjoo) of RM40m, EPS is 26 sen. Apply 10 times PER will give RM2.60. Cash from sale of kianjoo is approximately RM3.20. Fair value is hence RM2.60 + RM3.20 = RM5.80
icon888 don't forget canone have debt of 302 mil + 165 mil.. the money from selling 32.9% stake at kian joo @ 482 mil will be all gone to pay off the loans.
Shareholder will likely not get anything... and you are left with the remaining business of Can1
So as shareholders of Canone..Should you point middle finger to the director ???? Directors dun want to share future with other shareholders.. Is the way they treat shareholders ??
I hope some white knights coming on board to remove the exciting directors of Canone..
They sit in as CEO COO or MD but look after their pocket...They try to steal company assets from shareholders...Is this kind mental model of professional ??
You can rant all you want.. but the votes matter, can1 and EPF have way more votes than you guys minority. They will not offer takeover unless they already done their back room dealing with other big shareholder.
The whole thing smells damn fishy. How can anyone in their right mind think that Chee is separate from Yeo/Can-one? Chee joined can-one since 1977 and is close ally to Yeo. cpng is right, they are screwing minority shareholder using epf cash.. what the hell????
Well in the eyes of the law, they are separate entities... unless someone can prove there is some sort of collusion with Can1 to cheat minority shareholders...which will not be likely as the director is working with EPF.
this is a management buyout. meaning what? means chee khay leong see great potential after he left can-one when he joined kian joo in 2012 (hello, read between the lines). kian joo is a bigger platform for him to go regional. but to go regional, it sounds nice but it is not easy. so he partners with EPF. EPF already stated their goal is to support regional champion.
one thing you guys don't see is chee is a COO of can-one before he left to be COO of kian joo. it means he is well qualified and experienced to run the company. if not, why will EPF partner him? EPF already said they don't intend to run the company but let the professionals run it.
as for can-one, what do they get? you all got read quarterly announcement or not? can-one is heavily geared to buy kian joo. with this, they can not only repay their debts, they also realise a lot of unrealised gain from this (like in 2012, they recognise something like rm135 million).
anyway, i don't know how this US tapering will impact our market. ringgit fell from 3 right after May election to 3.23 - 3.24 now. for international investors, that is a lot of FX risk to manage so they may pull money out soon. read bloomberg la, it is already starting to exit from thailand, philippines and indonesia. you think we will be spared? for all i know, if this exercise don't work out, the prices will fall and then with tapering... hmmm.
Management is Yeo and Chee, but now just Chee alone? Also, why canone give up kianjoo easily after a long battle to secure the 32% stake? doesn't make sense for can-one to give up kianjoo just for cash. might as well didn't acquire it at the first place.
am surprise minority watchdog group has not pick up.
yes. it doesn't make sense canone give up kianjoo after a long battle in court. now they are major shareholder of kianjoo and kianjoo and canone can help each other in business. the dividend received from kianjoo (12.5sen/year) enough for canone to pay the interest for their debt (to acquire kianjoo).
for 9 month 2013, kianjoo contribute rm31.3mil (42%) out of canone's PBT of rm74.8mil. without contribution from kianjoo, profit of canone cut almost 50%. for the long term benefit, cannoe must not sell off kianjoo. kianjoo's value keep increasing.
just about one year+ ago, people also asked can canone buy kianjoo? it is negative, both are competing, don't add value and so on (see sapurakencana and kowchye commentators above). so perhaps they sell and make some money.
then now got commentators saying selling result in profit cut half, should not sell as kianjoo's adding value because share prices now higher. but future is not drawn in one direction only ie up, up, up.
so let's be honest la, ask yourself as an investor, having 100% hindsight, of course you cannot be wrong right? but we don't have benefit of hindsight ma. so how?
as a kianjoo shareholder, I would definitely vote for the disposal.
to be frank, i have a good run with kian joo. i also wish sometimes the party will go on. but you know what? if i did that, i wouldn't have sold my first property and use those money to roll into another investment. and from there, i buy and sell and try other investments. some go up, others go down. overall, i still gain. if i let sentimental feelings control me, i will be struck with my first property and only watch paper gain but zero money in my pocket.
now my house loan is effectively fully settled and i have other properties in my investment portfolio.
with certainty in gain, better to exit. don't put in sentiment and muddle the whole thing. nothing is always the same. things keep changing.
With the continued tapering concern, the outflow of funds is happening right now. Even kianjoo share prices came down to 3.16 right now. Why is kianjoo board still wasting time? Quickly give an answer and let shareholders take a vote on the proposal.
From the Edge Daily:
