those from DAYANG if you watching jangan malu2 jump over ya, we got 3sen dividend here ^_^ nothing to be ashamed to be a frog in stock investment, this is no politic
well managed oil company compare to others, minimal losses during bad times and performing well during good times, 7% dividend payout even when debts is not all clear proves that management confident to generate consistent profits in future
KUALA LUMPUR: Petra Energy Bhd and its wholly-owned subsodiary Petra Marine Sdn Bhd has entered into a memorandum of agreement with Great Sky Investments Corpoation for the disposal of a vessel named Petra Lyra for US$3.95mil (RM18.45mil) cash. Petra Energy said in a stock exchange filing the vessel is an accommodation work barge built in 2009 that sails under the Malaysian flag. "The disposal is timely as it allows PEB to monetise non-performing asset within the Group and crystalise the value of the vessel at a reasonable price. "At the same time, the disposal will result in future savings in term of annual laid-up costs, reactivation and dry-docking," it added
PENERGY has similar fundamental with DAYANG (recent EPS and NTA), while PENERGY has much better dividend payout. but DAYANG is still so much ahead in term of price. bigger company doesn't mean better company in term of PRICE PER SHARE
Petra Energy is a Bursa oil & gas company providing a range of integrated brownfield services and products for the upstream oil and gas industry in Malaysia. As such you should expect its performance to be link to crude oil prices.
From 2013 to 2022 there is a 72 % correlation between Petra Energy revenue for the year with the crude oil price of the preceding year. This meant that crude oil prices explained about half of the changes in revenue.
Crude oil prices this year is much higher than those in 2019. If you look at Petra Energy ROE trend for the past decade, you can see that it peaked in 2019. Does this mean that the ROE in 2024 would be better than that in 2019? If so, then the share price of the company has yet to reflect this. https://i.postimg.cc/PJmGZ92C/Petra-Energy.png
The research house added that the pipeline installation is expected to rise in 2024 but experience a steep cut in 2025, while HUC work is expected to improve significantly in 2024, benefiting service players such as Dayang Enterprise Holdings Bhd, Petra Energy Bhd, and Carimin Petroleum Bhd. https://www.klsescreener.com/v2/news/view/1251411
sold off 1st at 0.945 while oil price is slight lower than the time of my entry, while there is good profit to lock. overally the counter still good for me, will reenter if given opportunity.
right now need fast energency cash to buy HARBOUR which has yet to react to red sea crisis / freight rate increase
@5354_ I know but what to do I got limited cash I must choose well where to park my money lol tbh most of the stock in my attention recently up up up, missed quite a few already, I really need to play well this catching game to make for the most sometime it is really sad also to see stock I just sold to up. recently switched my cash from HWGB to APM, at the end both also up, luckily APM still ended up slightly better choice. right now my best bet really is HARBOUR, it's price is lagging and due to up because of the now happening red sea crisis.
just hope I can reenter PENERGY again given chance, will switch back here if given good opportunity and timing. already pack up a little nice capital gains plus gone through the 3sen exdate already la this round btw.
reentered at 0.955 today by reallocating cash from PRESTAR, cannot neglect red sea crisis's impact on oil price as well, just hope PRESTAR can wait for me to reenter before fly lol
@Akifuyu NTA is a very good reference to the company instrinsic value, you can make comparison with current fundamental / market sentiment with pass price chart records
anyway still lagging behind DAYANG, chase up a bit more la, this counter good partner with PETRONAS kan? I just saw an employee wearing a tshirt with PENERGY and PETRONAS logo side by side very recently
@5354_ yes haha very hard playing this catching game luckily still didn't miss this one>
I don't think this counter today's up has to do with political play la btw, most likely due to the good news I just posted anyway. DAYANG up even more btw, so is probably a o&g field play
sorry off topic here a while @5254_ since I see you also interested with politic, just want to share with you a nice video, clear explanation of current political state / dubai move issue https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqdVL_tvf9o , you can watch only last part of for dubai issue
12-Jan-2024 is during peak ma, not sure if they still selling now need wait for further announcement
imo cannot refer much to such institution investment, because they need take profit from time to time, they sure got plenty of stock left, otherwise also no concern as they have sold all
a safer way to do investment is take profit from time to time, I do that often too even I don't have such much capital to prevent profit opportunity missed in case of final TP not reached
they dispose at the same time got buyer also, it all depends whether the new buyer have higher TP and better holding power, urusharga jamaah continue selling is not much a concern as well as they just want to take profit and will stop if price dropped to certain level

sold all again at 1.05, parked my capital back to PRESTAR at price 1 bid lower than I last sold to switch here.
reason - personally don't want to be too greedy here and I always keen to reenter PRESTAR which is also due for an outbreak
seem like volume stacking at 1.05 this level and I got feeling that retailers are the one than entering this time.
I initially set my sell order at 1.15 but gave up after seeing volume and resistance building up
gd luck to you all who stay, definitely will consider coming back for 3rd round if given another opportunity as well

anyway, predicted it is institutional investment who is selling (retailer buying) during that time before the announcement is made :-)
regardless, reentered shortly after price drop 4% like that because I believe prospect is still good, as oil price is good and company has good chance to have good QRs results in at least short term future
oversold shortly after price drop to further down below 0.960 should be mainly due to the LDs crisis. also proven to be true as price easily recover back to this level just 2 days after. too bad I don't have extra cash to catch some during the bottom of 0.900, no point to sell other counters to park money here as well because my other counters suffer the same fate and also recover at almost same pace these 2 days
fundamental and good prospects still in tact, bursa index around 1500, one of the most, if not currently THE most undervalued O&G counter available in bursa
meanwhile, people trying to catch bottom at DIALOG while it is still overvalued LMAO~!
It depends on which type of investor you are. PENERGY is a stable counter for dividend and suitable for long term investors. Not a popular counter with retail, funds and institution now. Has low trading volume. Has high dividend payout and might be growing. If you like to keep for long term, this will be more suitable for you. Hibiscus and Dialog has higher trading volumes and more Funds and Institutional investors, price can soar up quick but will also drop quick. Dividend is rather low. If you like to trade, this counter is more suitable for you.

DIALOG bigger size company, overvalue HIBISCUS medium size company, maybe fair value or slightly overvalue PENERGY smaller size company, undervalue
disagree with @furionstormrage regarding volatility, volume comes and go, refer to recent history, PENERGY does have good volume as a smaller market cap company compare to the other 2
somemore volatility should not be something to be looked for, tendency / odds for price to move in the correct direction (up) is the one to look for
