In order to build the Golden Horse blockchain ecosystem, GHIB will also set up a “Golden Horse Blockchain Research Institute” at Hainan Ecological Software Park in China, at the same time recruiting digital finance experts from Malaysia and China to form a strong back-end technology team. The team CEO Mr. Xiong Wei, Honorary Professor from Chengdu University of Electronic Science & Technology and Shandong University of Technology, has over 20 years of experience in the field of computer software development as well as cloud platform management and technology. He is also advisor and consultant for a number of IT associations, such as Guangdong Internet of Things Association, Zhongshan Internet of Things Association, Shenzhen Smart Home Association and Hong Kong Blockchain Association.

In the agricultural sector, Tan Sri Lee added that projects like vertical farming can make use of blockchain technology to enable smart agriculture and tackle common problems in the supply chains such as food traceability, to produce better quality and safer food which can then provide added values to the farmers.
