Gamuda rises as Splash shareholders, Selangor ready for talks

KUALA LUMPUR (July 23): Gamuda Bhd shares rose among Bursa Malaysia top gainers today after Gamuda said its 40% associate Syarikat Pengeluar Air Sungai Selangor Sdn Bhd and Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd have discontinued their respective claims against each other.

On Friday, Gamuda told Bursa Malaysia : "The decision to withdraw is to facilitate negotiations on the disposal of Splash with the State Government of Selangor. The company (Gamuda) wishes to inform that a written consent for discontinuance has been filed with the High Court of Kuala Lumpur on 18 July 2018 wherein Splash and Syabas have wholly discontinued their respective claims against each other in the suit with liberty to file afresh."

Today, Gamuda shares were traded 26 sen or 7% higher at RM3.94 at 10:43am. At 10:49am, the stock changed hands at RM3.96. Splash shareholders include Sweet Water SPV Sdn Bhd and Viable Chip Sdn Bhd, both of which, own 30% each in Splash.

Bursa haven't decide/pass any rules to allow small retailers to Short ( The initiate relax to allow
small retailers to short was approved by Najib ( now is Mahathir Era) Coming Oct. Bursa will give
a decision.

Beliau berkata, Kerajaan Persekutuan menerusinya menterinya, Dr Xavier Jayakumar mengesahkan proses penstrukturan air sedang dikemaskini di pelbagai peringkat institusi kerajaan dan swasta.

“Ia sudah dijanjikan oleh Menteri, saya optimis isu ini menjadi keutamaan bagi saya dan kepimpinan Kerajaan Negeri.

“Sekarang ini kita berada pada landasan yang betul untuk menyelesaikan isu ini,” katanya kepada pemberita, semalam.

Kemelut penstrukturan air negeri sukar dicapai berikutan kegagalan perjanjian membabitkan kedua-dua pihak antara pentadbiran negeri dan Putrajaya sebelum ini yang ditadbir Barisan Nasional.

Pertikaian dilaporkan berlaku susulan wujudnya elemen berat sebelah yang disifatkan Kerajaan Negeri gagal menetapi kehendak keperluan rakyat Selangor.

Bagaimanapun Amirudin percaya, isu berkenaan akan ditangani sebaik mungkin bagi menjamin kepentingan rakyat di Selangor.

“Kita perlu hati-hati kerana isu ini melibatkan perbelanjaan besar dan perjanjian antara Kerajaan Negeri dan Kerajaan Persekutuan.

“Walaupun pentadbiran Persekutuan dan Negeri berada dalam keadaan ‘mesra’, namun saya memberi jaminan kepentingan rakyat itu perlu diutamakan.

“Namun, kita sudah mengadakan perbincangan, sekurang-kurangnya penghujung Ogos ini isu ini dapat diselesaikan,” katanya.
