Bina Puri Holdings Bhd executive director Matthew Tee Kai Woon is of the view that Budget 2017 will be positive for construction firms, with more contracts to be awarded in the final quarter of this year.
“The immediate one will be MRT2 and LRT3, followed by the Sabah section of Pan Borneo Highway next year,” he commented.
Tee also advised investors to start looking at construction stocks, because they are the prime beneficiaries of mega infrastructure projects.
“It should be a good year for us. If the oil price rebounds, there will be a lot of oil and gas projects that require general works from us,” he further said.

Calvin, I've just decided to follow you on this BPURI. Hopefully it will fly tuju ... langit, like Ayam Tua said.
Sometimes there seems to be no logic in the stock market. Either you use FA, TA, FVI will work or not. Like now, where got logic even LIONCOR to be delisted also can jump from 1.0 to 1.5 sen. Maybe some people have information that we do not have or just pure speculators. And recently also there are trades with MAXWELL and MAXWELL-WA even though this company has no business as discussed in i3investor. Yes, their QR report looks good - very creative accounting with NTA of around 0.50. But do they really manufacture shoes and how many of us have seen their factory operations in China, well apart from the company sponsored trip for remisiers and agents/promoters. Photoshop images? So, I believe some speculators or maybe syndicates are trying to goreng this MAXWELL stock before it goes into oblivion.
I have faith (if there's such a thing as faith in stock trading) that BPURI will fly. Its NTA is 0.91 and it's got the contracts with the government - sure can pay. Well, there are also the downsides as mentioned by your detractors, Calvin.
Oh ya, for the record I entered BPURI this morning with an average price of 0.422. I guess Calvin might have entered at 0.38, so by now it has rallied more than 10% for him. Sorry Calvin if my assumption is off. So, maybe this evening I'll pray to the stock gods to push up this stock.

First I want to apologise to Gen2 for not replying to his specific request about BPuri has only 33% stake in USJ Main Place Mall.
Let me explain my position:
What I wanted to highlight is that BPuri has Rm205,000,000 worth of Money in Main Place Mall. So it is inconsequential whether BPuri ouw 33%, 50% or 100%.
My Main Focus is If BPuri Needed CASH it can sell off this asset and convert it into CASH.
To me NTA (Net Tangible Asset) backing is VERY IMPORTANT AS A MARGIN OF SAFETY.
THIS IS THE REQUIREMENT MENTIONED IN THE BOOK

The Margin of safety if to buy up to 65 Cts. Why 65 Cts?
Because 65 cts is actually 70% of 93 cts.

Trading Market has discounted most Properties asset by 50% . For a small player in this section 50% discount considered very generous. There are much more efficient player in the market..eg . Hohup , Matrix , Tambun ... or even Hapseng and Cresendo a brilliant.

Matthew Tee only owns 1.85% of the Bina Puri. His indirect interest is held mostly through his father, Tan Sri Datuk Tee Hock Seng.

Whether you can make money to follow Calvin to buy Bina Puri will depend on coming quarters results. If results are good, you will make money. Otherwise you will get stuck

Since Malaysia's GE is coming soon there will be more project awards for BPuri as it is Govt Linked. See Pm Najib gave lots of projects to GKent & GKent shares have more than doubled in price by now.

That's a Very Intelligent Question indeed.
They are telling you from very little earnings & high debt high gearing on the surface. Every knowledgeable Accountant who takes a look at BPuri financial results for the past years will shake their heads and stay away.
On the other hand they "KNOW" what is the "True" Status of the Company and are quietly loading & loading up.
I spoke to Remisier Thomas from OSK/RHB Tmn Molek Branch, Johor yesterday about his excellent stock pick of Tomypak in year 2009 when Tomypak was only 40 cts.
At that time Tomypak shows very erratic results but INSIDERS were nibbling & nibbling Tomypak shares very quietly at 40 cts. INSIDERS Share Buying did not push up prices as they wanted to buy Tomypak on the cheap.
It was a game of demoralising shareholders with little dividends & erratic earnings on the surface BUT DEEP DOWN THERE WERE HIDDEN AGENDA.
After accumulating enough Tomypak shares at 40 cts THEY SUDDENLY DECLARED A 4 CTS DIVIDEND TO THE SURPRISE OF ALL.!!
And by year 2010 TOMYPAK PRICE SHOT UP TO A NEW HIGH OF RM1.55 (SPG By Dynaquest)
