Look at the chart, its on uptrend with volume increase.
With strong and steady business with estimate eps of 16sen , PE 5.9 with div is a good buy.

yeah ..good news that everybody finally aware of this stock. undervalued stock..volume surge a lot..last we seen such hugh volume in 2009 + Waris Harta Sabah own more than 45% holding. No need Urusharta Jemaah to support the price.

Posted by learnbyheart > 2020-04-25 17:51 | Report Abuse

just to recap that application to raise up port tariff submitted by Suria Capital in September 2019. This is another good news in the pipeline. Price surge from RM 1.28 to Rm1.45 for the news only, upon agreement i believe price will surge above RM 1.45.

Ports are allowed to operation, good news.
On the other hand, it looka like Urusharta would like to clear all the shares probably due to shortage of fund

Might take awhile for Urusharta Jemaah to clear. Still has 20 m shares, assuming 1m day is which higher than avg, we have to wait another 20 days.

Urusharta Jemaah must be switching counter. Holding 12 years also lost money. Now everything down, is it a good opportunity for it to switch camp?

Land sales in 2015 for rm229 m still not paid? Still remained as receivable in the book? The property development takes ages to take off the ground? Has it? How long is the waiting time to cash in the 18% share, total rm315 million, plus the receivable of rm229 M, total rm544M?

Cash Flow from the ports operation mainly dumped back as Capex for Ports Development? Development of the Cruise Terminal needs hundreds of millions. Is it a viable project? What are the returns?

Would the Sabah Govt agree with the increase in tariff which will raise imported costs and dampen export profits during the current economic recession?

I am hesitating...

Any sifu can help?

Do note that some of those lands (concession assets) need to be handed over to Sabah Ports Authority at no costs in the future !!

These assets is RM 836+ million in the book now.

Capital expenditures recognised as concession assets are to be handed over at no costs to
Sabah Ports Authority upon the expiry of the concession period.

Thanks Ivan

Port Concession is 30 years with an option of another 30 years extension. The obligation is for Suria Capital to spend rm 1.3 B Capex over the span of the concession. Up to 31.12.2019, already spent Capex rm1. 019 B

The concession asset will be handed over to Port of Sabah Authority at no cost at the end of the concession period. Almost missed this point.

The concession asset is actually amortised over the concession period. It has already been accounted for in computing for the profits. The amortisation gone straight into the Cash Flow. More cash is generated, more than the net profit before Capex..

Of all the counters I bought, this counter is the safest. U can buy in and sleep well and collect almost 6% dividend. The biz is monopoly with no rivals and have few hundred millions of money/ assets to collect in future.

The co is allowed in every 5 years to request the Sabah state govt to revise the port tariffs, the funny thing is that the one who approves the revision is also the main shareholder of this co, i.e Sabah government, who hold around 45% of this co.

Quite difficult to realise there is a co like this in klse...

To assist the Small Medium Industries in the State as well as the development and participation of Bumiputeras (Majlis Pembangunan dan Perdagangan Sabah, MPPB)

@ali,
One fine day I buy one lorry to sell vegetables.
I decide to sell vegetables for ten years, so I divide the cost of lorry for 10 years and match with my yearly vegetables sales.
Implications:-
1) my turnover match with my lorry cost, any excess is profit, shortage is loss,

In the case of Suria, repair and maintenance of port is my lorry, every year port operation generates profit.

Good or bad:-
It is Normal accounting entries, it is matching concept. Good application of accounting concept.

Indeed, Sabah is already serving as a regional distribution hub for import trade, break bulk and onward shipment to key Asean markets. The removal of the cabotage policy for Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan in June 2017 by the federal government has allowed easy access to goods from foreign markets.

The removal of the longstanding policy, which means Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan do not need to import goods via ports in Peninsular Malaysia, has helped cut the cost of living in Sabah.

Additionally, the removal of the cabotage policy has enhanced trade efficiency for international shipping lines.

The major ports in the state are managed by Sabah Ports Sdn Bhd.

This unit of SURIA CAPITAL HOLDINGS BHD operates all the eight ports at Kota Kinabalu, Tawau, Lahad Datu, Kunak, Kudat, Sandakan, Sepanggar Bay Container Port and Sepanggar Bay Oil Terminal. But more should to be done to propel Sabah’s economic development

i doubt this coming quarter result would be solid as previous. Due to covid, the export and import volume should fall drastically. Therefore the result bad

The result is probably bad, if result is not bad,how come the share price is so low.

If you want to bottom fishing抄底,the only time to collect is when the counter is currently trading very badly at the moment and will recover after the incident.

I think value investors will not start to collect Topgloves now because the price is strongly overvalued...
