Singapore: Recall of 'Goods' banana cake from Malaysia over food additive issue

SINGAPORE (July 2): The presence of sorbic acid exceeding the maximum limit stated in the Singapore Food Regulations has been detected in "Goods" banana cakes from Malaysia, said the Singapore Food Agency (SFA).

As a precautionary measure, SFA has directed the importer Goods Huat Hee Marketing to recall the implicated product.

“The recall is ongoing,” it said in its Facebook update.

SFA said sorbic acid is a permitted food additive that is used for preservation purposes.

“Consumption of the affected product is unlikely to pose any adverse health effect due to its low toxicity,” it said.

Ular remember very clearly dulu first job the most tak guna punya dept is take care the environment one. Itu local mgr kena sideline by jipun boss will transfer the mgr to this dept. Now different already after the Angmoh so concern about ESG of the company. Ular wondering mgr kena sideline d by the Jipun boss if still working must be getting promoted lah. Everybody talk about ESG now. But too bad lah the mgr ingat pun sudah retired by now lah

Ular punya bini mau belanja and anak mau makan. Only nearby punya shopping mall ada newly open one. Itu korean BBQ eat too many times already leh. Ular pun know how to prepare Korea BBQ at home leh. Got one period even my wife also prepared sweet and sour korea KFC herself at home. She crazy korea food too much liao. Nowadays her after attending TCM classes she changed her food liao. Started to be very fussy on food lah. All cooling foods avoid eat at all. Cold drink pun kenot drink. Ular very cham also have to follow esle kena nag leh. Anak pun sama kena nag leh. Correct?
