0.125~0.13 can reach? That’s Impossible! Drop because of getting mega projects? Because of good quarter results? Tell me the reason....

Thats why in the JV, BDSB is tasked to take care the validity of the AP for sand export, validity of their certificates for environmental impact of sand mining but not to apply for it because they have already business partners that have acquired such AP and certificates. So, it’s now clear. Cheers all!

hmm i wonder if this can be made into an issue... Original proposal was for sand from Terangannu and Pahang but the two new partners mentioned in the doc hold license from Sabah.

Smart guys though circumvented that initial article where Minister said they had no approved AP.

"The Joint Venture will be relying on the said special approval letter dated 7 October 2019 from Chief Minister Department of Sabah to export sand. As such, BDSB does not require the approved permit from the Energy and Resources Ministry for the export of sand."

I was wondering about the 2 Million start up as well.
100K TONS at current sand price of sand RM 32 = 3.2m (Their price may be lower though)

I am using the FOB rate of USD 8 (xRM4) from ALIBABA
so not sure how much insurance and freight will be? the freight should be cheaper than usual though as logistics was decimated by covid
https://www.alibaba.com/countrysearch/MY/river-sand.html

The only thing i am not clear on is if it takes 1 to 2 months or 1 to 3 months as there is a typographical error in the doc.
"one (1) to two (3)months"

if they can nail it down to 2 vessels a month their revenue will probably be 6.4 x 3 = 19.2 (at the least)/per quarter.
They are gonna need to increase the number of vessels if they want to make the 15yr dead line with China. Plus lets not forget the Hong Kong Deal. and whatever future deals they make.

So ladies and gentleman it looks like we have a "wonderful" business here.
Hopefully no reports for a while so i can accumulate

I bet it is quite difficult to fall to 0.13 but if fall, only for short period to grab

hi, i am newbies here and have been following comments from all sifus here since early May.

from announcement made yesterday:

"The Joint Venture will be relying on the said special approval letter dated 7 October 2019 from Chief Minister Department of Sabah to export sand. As such, BDSB does not require the approved permit from the Energy and Resources Ministry for the export of sand."

this is suspicious and not convincing because
- according to Custom (Prohibition of Exports) Order 2017 by Attorney General's chambers, it stated that all natural sands export to any country need permit from Natural Resources and Energy Ministry. no exemption listed in this order.
- no such news/legislation found online regarding power of chief minister to approve such permit
( i search up to Perlembagaan Persekutuan under Senerai Persekutuan, Negeri, Bersama) ; but who knows there may be changes which i dont know.

i sincerely hope everyone here can earn from AGES but advice is to becareful also.

please dont hentam me as i am investing in AGES also

just to share my opinion.
thanks

Musa Aman freed of all 46 corruption, money-laundering charges

KUALA LUMPUR: Former Sabah chief minister Tan Sri Musa Aman was today acquitted and discharged of all 46 criminal charges linked to timber concessions contracts in the state.

This was after deputy public prosecutor Datuk Azhar Abdul Hamid told the court that the prosecution is withdrawing all the corruption and money-laundering charges against the accused.

"The prosecution is withdrawing all charges in both (corruption and money-laundering) cases," he said.

Musa's lawyer, Francis Ng Aik Guan, subsequently asked for a full acquittal to avoid the charges hanging over his client's head.

"There must be a finality, and this is why we urge the court for a proper decision and that can only be an acquittal out of fear that the accused would be charged again," he said.

To support the application for acquittal, Francis referred to previous case files among others from the Independent Commission against Corruption of Hong Kong (ICAC).

He said in 2011, ICAC carried out investigations against Musa in which the commission found that no offence was committed and that no charges should be brought against Musa because no offence had been disclosed.

Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), he said, took a similar stand and this was also affirmed by former Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Ghani Patail in an affidavit filed by the defence.

Muhammad Jamil then granted Musa an acquittal and discharge of all 46 charges.

"The accused is therefore acquitted and discharged of the charges and his bail money to be returned," he said.

The judge also vacated the trial dates which were previously fixed from September to November.

He also struck out two other applications made by the defence which were to strike out the charges against Musa as well as to challenge the constitutionality of Section 82(2) of the Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act (Amlatfapuaa) 2001.

Later, after the proceedings, Francis expressed how delighted the defence was by the court's decision.

"We are happy. We feel that it is a fair and correct decision," he said.

Musa, 69, who is Sungai Sibuga assemblyman, was first brought to court on Nov 5, 2018 to face corruption charges and later on March 5, 2019, he was charged with 16 counts of money-laundering.

On the 30 counts of corruption, Musa in his capacity as Sabah chief minister and Sabah Foundation Board of Trustees chairman, allegedly received US$50.1 million from eight logging concessionaires as an inducement to approve logging concessions to 16 companies.

He was alleged to have committed the offences at eight banks and financial institutions in Hong Kong, China and Singapore between Dec 20, 2004, and Nov 6, 2008.

The charges framed under Section 11 (a) of the Anti-Corruption Act 1997 and punishable under Section 16 of the same act carries a maximum 20 years' jail and fine of not less than five times the amount or value of the bribe or RM10,000, whichever is higher, upon conviction.

On the 16 money laundering charges, Musa allegedly instructed Richard Christopher Barnes to open an account at UBS AG Bank, Singapore, under the name of Richard Christopher Barnes, through which he intended to receive proceeds from illegal activities.

Musa also faces alternative charges of concealing proceeds from illegal activities.

On the second to ninth and 11th to 15th charges, Musa allegedly received US$37,845,491.60 in proceeds from illegal activities from several individuals through an account under Barnes' name.

On the 10th charge, he allegedly received S$2.5 million in proceeds from illegal activities, through the same account.

I am fearful political donations will forever be used as disguise in Malaysian politics. Even the good guys might start calling it political donations sooner or later. Then, everything will be lost. Best Parliament set some legal guidelines what can or cannot be done. It is obviously challenging considering the circumstances asking our corrupt politicians to police themselves. Maybe a separate independent entity free from the government and opposition to oversee it might be better. Sad sad day for Malaysia when after so long, we are still dealing with a lot of corruption in our country.

Sending a letter of representation to the AG is the right of the accused. It provides another way to settle a matter in court.

The AG can decide whether to accept it, and take it to court for DNAA, or set it aside.

The court can accept the Application or over rule it, citing that it would be unfair to have the charges hanging over the head of the accused, and substitute instead with DNA.

The AG, under the Constitution, does not have to give any reason/s for varying, amending, withdrawing or dropping charges.

His or her decision cannot be challenged.

There must be closure.

Likewise, once the court has ruled, there's closure.

Aside from letter of representation, those unhappy with a verdict can appeal twice from the court of first instance.

Having said that, the Agong can remove the AG upon the advice of the PM.

Nowadays, I am reluctant to read news Report. It’s misleading readers.

This has become a bit of truth mixed with bullsh*it.

They should stick to investigative journalism and uncover scandals.

Only one charge is necessary to send a person to jail.

If there are 40 over charges, all dropped before, it shows they are weak.

The court is not about the truth, but the law.

Having said that, the 46 charges cannot stand up in court.

There’s a very big difference between political donations and money laundering.

No court will consider conspiracy theories.

The AG does not have to give any reasons if he or she varies a case, amends, withdraws or drops charges.

More nonsense. They are given leeway because of who Musa Aman is. Corruption knows no bound. AG would have argued pointlessly if there had not been an acquittal of every single charge.

Posted by LouisVuitton LV > 2020-06-12 17:42 | Report Abuse

Somebody from the Musa's camp has to issue a justification in view of public anger over the acquittal of the 46 charges. Why do you do it, Amer? Why is it necessary at all? The Judge made the decision already. However, there is one aspect of the justification that should not escape our attention - you are trying to bring in politic. That the prosecution was due to politic and therefore mala fide. Can we also say that Musa's acquittal was due to politic as well? What is undeniable was that Musa received the 40 million in cash, which was quite a lot of cash, whether it was money laundering or not. The loophole - political donation. You think people believe this? If you don't answer to the judge, by God, you will answer to Him on the last day.

As for acquittal it is against weight of evidence.

Sri Ram in outlining case of the prosecution in October 2018 had stated that prosecution had a very strong case against Miss Aman. That they will prove that Musa Aman had received kickbacks of over rm 200 million in approving timber concessions amounting to Billions of dollars and concessions running into 30 years etc.

Posted by HELLO, I AM GOD! > 2020-06-12 17:46 | Report Abuse

I am wondering having all that documents why did they go ahead with prosecution. Trying luck or what? Is the prosecution working on instigation? Why the 47 charges? They are stupid or what? And still wonder why did the defense file strike out application when it is a criminal matter? And why not go on trial to prove your innocence-when others are doomed to go through?

Simply there are too many questions unanswered.
