I have been with Penta for years, but honestly I personally think that the price now trading at RM4.43 is overvalued. For very short term yes the shares price may goes up after correction on coming Monday. But for mid to long term, it’s obviously the revenue and profit will fall significantly due to the domino effect caused by Covid 19 pandemic.

Anyone who have read the quarterly report that published at 15 May should found that the management is not giving positive comments for near future. Also, some figures in the report have warn us.

This is a good company with great prospects, many current shareholders will still hold after Q1 result, but how many of them will still hold it for another 1 or 2 quarters if the revenue and profit falling continuously?Very interesting.

For me, I’d prefer to enter later. Just my 2 cents and this is not a buy/sell call.

TSMC 2020 capex is 15 to 16 bil compared to 2019 14.5 bill. No sign of slowdown in semiconductor industry. The ATM segment is sustainable. The increasing no of camera in smartphone n utilisation of sensors in automotive also boost it's sensor segment. The yr 2021 will b the yr of industry 4.0 n Penta is well positioned for factory automation. Covid19 is a blessing of disguise for its medical segment. At PE 26 it's 1 of the cheapest tech stock in klse.

May I know why is it overvalued? Why do u expect bad QR moving forward?

CIMB analyst report today 18 May:

- We see re-inclusion into Securities Commission’s shariah list, bonus issue exercise and 3D-sensing proliferation in smartphones as potential catalysts.

- we are encouraged to learn that the group has not experienced a cancellation in orders amidst the challenging operating environment. Moreover, we believe Pentamaster remains an attractive proxy for 1) rising 3D sensing penetration in smartphone, 2) increased IR 4.0 adoption in the consumer and industrial segment through FAS and 3) proliferation of electric vehicles and autonomous driving in the automotive segment. Finally, Pentamaster also has a strong balance sheet with net cash position of RM423m (RM0.89/share) to weather the near-term uncertainty.
