Chip makers focusing on automobile-related applications will grow much faster than other chip makers from 2018 - 2021. Winner of semiconductor industry will be ones focusing on automobile-related applications.

According to one analyst, the automotive segment contributes close to 80% of KESM’s total revenue base and has seen robust growth.

It said growth through 2021 in the auto and IoT industries could reach 13.4 percent and 13.2 percent, respectively, far outpacing the 7.9 percent growth forecast for the rest of the semiconductor industry in the same time period.

What's your strategy for 2018? Some semiconductor stocks have been overbought. Avoid those stocks. Why? They may go through price correction later. What's a good buy? Kesm is definitely a good buy. It's not overbought. The growing automotive segment will contributes to Kesm's sales.

Seems to have broken out of an ascending triangle and God knows when it will stop. RM25 might even be too conservative a target. Its last qtr result seemed to have been contributed in a large part in Oct and that is a very good performance. Everybody will be very pleased come the AGM on 11th and there will be a coming divd. for the year ending 31st July which is indicative. From now till the next reportable qtr there is nothing negative to prevent a price surge and the next year will be fantastic. At 43.01 million shares issued only, the sky is the limit for this stock. Recommended buy. Good luck.

Global semiconductor sales in November 2017 were at their highest at US$37.7 billion (RM151.11 billion) (+21.5% year-on-year [y-o-y], +1.6% month-on-month [m-o-m]).

Of note, growth has been uninterrupted for nine and 16 consecutive months on m-o-m and y-o-y bases respectively.

If the momentum sustains, it would be the first time global semiconductor sales reach the US$400 billion mark. Year-to-date (YTD) growth was at 21.6% y-o-y and this was largely in line with World Semiconductor Trade Statistics’s forecast for 2017 at 20.6% y-o-y, the largest to be attained since 2010.

Broad-based double-digit growth continued to be observed across all regions. The strongest was recorded by the Americas (+40.2% y-o-y) and this was followed by Europe (+18.8% y-o-y), China (+18.5% y-o-y), Asia-Pacific/all others (+16.2% y-o-y) and Japan (+10.6% y-o-y).
