Is Focus Lumber a good company? Is it worth investing?
I have not studied those stocks before you mentioned here. But since you ask, I will try to look into one of them. I will give my opinion if this is a good company worthy of investing.
Focus Lumber Berhad is engaged in the manufacturing and sale of plywood, veneer and laminated veneer lumber (LVL), and investment holding. The Company mainly produce thin panel plywood, of which the thickness is below six millimeter (mm) and are capable of further processing by laminate factories. It also produce thick panel plywood ranging from 6 mm to 18 mm.
The business is cyclic in nature and it appears to be good this couple of years although there is sign that it is slowing down.
It's business has a high net profit margin of about 10% and provides a return of 14% (>12%) of invested capital. The quality of its earnings is good. Free cash flow is abundant at more than 10% of revenue (>>5%). It has plenty of cash, amounting to 57 sen per share with zero debt and hence a very safe company to invest in. The only shortcoming is its business is quite stagnant with not much growth.
At 81.5, its PE ratio is 7.3 (<10), EV/Ebit=3.0 (<8) and price-to-book of 0.7 (<1). So it is not expensive and hence may offer investors a good investment.
Sorry, sephiroth, didnt see your earlier posting. I went in at 81 sen before I asked kcchong for his input. I made a bit in the 1st round - 4 sen. Haha !
i notice this counter 2 yrs ago, at that time 62 sen , didn't buy coz volume extremely low but div yield is 10%. even now yield is (0.06/0.86) quite high at almost 7%
This company have net cash of 57 sen per share which is 64% of current share price of 89 sen and NO borrowings. this amount is more than enough to brave thru any storm coming, if any
FLBHD is another strong fundamental & undervalue stock to watch for accumulation in our portfolio. It was listed on the Main Market on 28/4/2011 at an IPO price of 0.60 per share.
The profit margins hv been very consistence for the past few years since its listing. It has an attractive low PE ratio of 8.56, marginal ROE of 10.04%, EPS of 0.104 & net cash of RM50.88mil for the period ended 30 June 2013.
In addition FLBHD enjoyed a healthy balance sheet with no borrowings & offer an attractive yearly distribution of 6.0 sen net dividend per share to its shareholders.
Its current NTA value stands @1.18 & at the current closing price of 0.89, FLBHD is consider an undervalue gem which will be attracting potential investors to accumulate for mid & longterm strategy.
Due to its low base of shares issued with only 103.2mil scrips, the share price moving upward will be at a very fast pace. It was proven on last Friday closing price of 0.89 +0.075 which is achievable even though with low trading volume of 320,000 units only.
the boat is still stable, not shaky yet, anytime this week will break 1.00 NAV 1.18 Cash 0.57, so you are buying the company biz for 39.5 sen (96.5-57) and guarantee 6 sen single tier dividend year after year
Three years ago IPO price start 1.000 up to 1.300 then drop until 0.550. Recently sudden up back to 0.970 is good tries....I loss a lot of money here....be carefull
# tony - first round I went in at 77 sen, sold too early at 79 sen (low activity). Second round at 81 sen, sold half at 95 sen. Targeting RM 1 to sell the balance 1
# Tony - yes, the bkt under the bridge is one of the better ones. But I prefer to go to Mao Sang Kao (Taman Berkely) where the traditional bkt is served without any frills - no vegetables, no yau char kway, no fish head etc. Thick soup !
# Tony - Subur is a fundamentally sound company if I may say. But not for fun or middle term trades as there is the volume is too low. But when it starts to move, it will move rapidly !
Sorry to ask again. Is the Berkeley shop located in the middle of the second row of shops next to a tea shop. What about comparing wt those in taman rashna
# Tony - not sure whether there is a tea shop nearby but it's the same row as the famous pan mee shop. There is another outlet at Pandamaram and another at the Lot 10 food court (which I do not fancy). No ideas about those in Taman Rashna.
