EPS increased by 20% (5.89 sen vs 4.89 sen)
Div increased by 24% (5.6 sen vs 4.5 sen)

Second quarter 2022 results:
EPS: RM0.029 (up from RM0.027 in 2Q 2021).
Revenue: RM420.3m (up 12% from 2Q 2021).
Net income: RM107.3m (up 19% from 2Q 2021).
Profit margin: 26% (up from 24% in 2Q 2021). The increase in margin was driven by higher revenue.

2QFY22: Plain sailing

2QFY22 core NP of MYR113m was above expectations, with 1HFY22 results coming in at 56%/58% of our/the streets FY22E estimates. We have raised our FY22-24E earnings assumptions, but lower our valuation peg to 35x FY23E PER, to account for the accelerated rate increase cycle. Imputing for both, our TP is nudged marginally higher to MYR4.77 (+1%). Inari is our top Msian OSAT pick, underpinned by its RF divisions strength/robust volume loading and the potential onboarding of new customers.

Remember that when banks give high (unrealistic) target price, better be careful and take their advice with some garam. Remember back in 2020 when most banks (except JPM) give TP30++ for Topglove?

As usual, IB love picking PER number anyhow from the sky. No benchmarking against global players. Easy job.

CGS-CIMB reiterated its "add" call on Inari, with a lower TP of RM4.30, based on a lower 33 times CY23 forecast price-earnings (versus 38 times) in view of weaker sentiment on the tech sector amid rising interest rates.

There are many reasons for the ridiculous valuation of MY "tech" stocks. 

1. A scarcity of companies that are expanding
2. There are only a few good semicon companies in MY with excellent management.
3. Penang's geographical advantage
4. The customers of our local tech champions are big boys.
5. There is too much capital, but not many good semicon companies available in Bursa.
6. Shxt IB reports.

It's easy to invest overseas like Nasdaq counters at much lower valuation nowadays. Why insist Bursa Semiconductor stocks goreng with IBs and local fund managers ? We would see many of them coming out more often in offering ginseng chicken soup.
