Malaysia ringgit is at 26 year weakness level against US$. While Malaysia economy grew 3.7% in 2024 vs Singapore at 1.1%, there is a silver lining.
Makes our export oriented machine economy more competitive. Semiconductors sector will benefit tremendously . Not to mention our Palm Oil, Oil & Gas, Tourism sectors all stand to gain very well.
Imports are costly but it discourages durable goods like EV cars, Overseas holidays and luxury goods. However, our imports primarily consists of Machineries needed to produce goods for exports like Semiconductor are one off painful purchases.
Weak ringgit are good for exporters like Inari, Uchitech (99% exports), MPI.
Be greedy when others are fearful. (Warren Buffett)

All the anchovies lured by sharks got eaten. Fake pump to sell then drop as always. Next quarter will have lower revenue and big funds manipulating to sell. Sell back to them and don't get trapped.

MPI Is The oldest listed semiconductor maker in Bursa and rose 40 Sen to RM29.70.
Top 40 USA chips maker recorded gains in revenues and share prices.
world leaders ASML chip machines maker rose to 15 year high. The beginning of semi conductor stocks.
Inari is just a droplet from the bucket. What if it too received increased major orders from China? USA? Germany?
When the stocks doubled by R 12 billion, imagine what happens to Insas stock? INSAS OWNS almost 15% inari. A cool RM1.5billion added valuation.

Since 3iii give a fair value of RM 1.60 for inari. So I actually tell him go and buy insas and indirectly owned inari at far below RM1.60 price and even better take over Insas and get inari for free.

Invisible pressing hand comes again with 1.5% interest for SBL. Have to wait for much longer again to see a significant uptrend.

What is happening to Semiconductor sector worldwide? NVIDIA’s orders are robust, pushing TSMC’s 3 and 4-nanometer production capacity to near full utilization.
Semiconductors are growing on the tear. Expected 24% growth in 2024.
Inari is attractively priced as it has strong moats with >22% net profit margins.

Investment is booming. The Penang state attracted RM60.1bn ($12.8bn) in foreign direct investment in 2023, more than the total it received from 2013 to 2020 combined.
“It’s a rush. It’s not only Chinese companies [setting up in Penang]. It’s Korean, it’s Japanese, and it is western,” says Marcel Wismer, Kemikon’s chief executive. “And all of this is related to the tech war between the US and China.”
2nd Level Thinking : while the rising tide will raise all boats, choose semiconductors players that are established, cash chest to invest and supply to newcomers. SOme firms like Inari, MPI and GLobetronics are set to disproportionally benefit from the investment.

Not to pour cold water, I don't think Inari will rise significantly seeing the SBL is still taking shares from the market at rate 1.5%.

REPOSTED
MSIA (Malaysia Semiconductor Industry Association’s ) president Datuk Seri Wong Siew Hai said the global semiconductor sales dipped 8.2 per cent to US$527 billion in 2023, but the Malaysian market was able to retain its strength throughout the year.
The evidence can be seen in last year’s electrical and electronics (E&E) sector, where exports decreased by only 3.0 per cent to RM575.45 billion after 2022’s record year of 30 per cent growth to RM593 billion.
Opinion:
1] AI and IOT continues to grow while traditional sectors like staple food, transportation continue to flatten out.
2] Electronics gadgets esp Smartphones have become the must have tool.
3] Malaysia semiconductor poised to gain from BOTH USA investment (eg Intel), Europe-Germany.
4] with trade war, more Chinese semiconductors are collaborating with Malaysian players with China + 1 policy
Tailwind for Inari and thus Insas and others like MPI.
Disclosure: Happily owns Insas and Insas WC for its wonderful businesses at Very Attractive prices
