Epf keeps buying that means something is going on......positively. Think for yrself n make yr own judgement. At this price is way too low n forget about Netflix the products n services offered got differentiation n cannot compare with Astro generally. Astro wins EPL broadcast rights for next 3 seasons

KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 4): Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd has secured the English Premier League (EPL) broadcast rights in Malaysia for the next three seasons from 2016/17 to 2018/19.

In a statement today, Astro chief operating officer Henry Tan said Astro has strengthened its position as the home of sports and the choice for sports fans by winning the rights to all Premier League matches for the seasons from 2016/17 to 2018/19.

The revenue derived from EPL is very minimal. in fact not profitable.

I think the next quarter result will be bad due to appreciation of USD:MYR rate. Many existing user also cancelled their subscription with astro.

With launch of iflix and Netflix services, I think this will bring negative effect for Astro earning in this year and next year. But what we concern is the tv right that going to expiry on feb 2017. Recently Astro lose to Media Prima group for Malaysia football super league tv broadcast for year 2016-2018. Something not right.

Cannot understand why research houses and EPF so bullish on Astro. I prefer newspaper stocks eg Media Prima and Media C for exposure to media sector for their high dividend yield.
