Not many company can survive more than 100 years in Malaysia.

Sime Darby the conglomerate from former Sime Darby, Guthrie and Golden Hope have shown us how it overcame the market change, volatility of commodities price, game changer from competitive crop, etc.........

I would like to invest long in Sime Darby Plantation Sdn Bhd........ Very robust future figures from the post replanting earning and Genome select Calix 600. Last but not least their full range facilities in mid stream and downstream will make their midstream/downstream benefit significantly from the integrated supply chain business model...

Once ROE and Net Gearing come to the acceptable range it will roars again...

More than 2x book value and at 24 p/e.

Every plantation company in malaysia is cheaper other than united plantation.

I have different perception on SIMEPLT. CPO price had plunged from RM2750 to below RM2500 currently, based on current price RM5.00, PE 20++, sanctions risk from EU and India hike the CPO import tax. If keen to buy, better wait for 4.00~4.50

8.57 sen dividend(by MIDF) must pay RM 5.01. FGV RM 1.82 you get 5 sen dividend. Both considered pure plantation stocks.

Has Wahid actually misjudged in his attempt to build greater value instead destroyed them. Based on the market response to-date, original shareholders of Sime Darby have since lost billions in aggregate in mkt capitalization. But is this an opportunity and live on other prople's fear?

Why expensive? I personally feel it's to shake off weak holders. Funds will make a beeline for it sooner or later because it's one of the 30 component stocks
