- The EXTREME SCENARIO of CRACKSPREAD of MOGAS95 (PETROL) dropping to 6.5 USD/Brl


Its quite accurate to assume that the yield of HY is as per below:

Diesel + Kerosene + Others = 58%
Petrol (Mogas95) = 42%



Now, let us use the probable crack spread of these during Q3 2017 as per following:

Diesel + Kerosene + Others = 58% , crack spread = 11
Petrol (Mogas95) = 42% , crack spread captured = 9

Refining margin = 11 x 58% + 9 x 42%
= 6.38 + 3.78
= 10.16 USD/brl



Now let us see for Q1 2018 assuming Petrol Crack Spread drops to 6.5 USD/Brl and others remain the same.

Diesel + Kerosene + Others = 58% , crack spread = 11
Petrol (Mogas95) = 42% , crack spread captured = 6.5 (say it dropped by 2.5 USD/brl)

Refining margin = 11 x 58% + 6.5 x 42%
= 6.38 + 2.74
= 9.12 USD/brl



Difference = 10.16 - 9.12
= 1.0 USD/brl

So the overall effect in the refining margin is merely a drop of 1.0 USD/brl for a drop of Mogas95 crack spread to 6.5 USD/brl.

pretty life ... rchi is a MOMENTUM trader !! as soon as the momentum fizzles out, he is OUT of the trade ... yup TP 7 may come but he may re-enter when momentum builds up again !! then again, who knows ??? maybe this round will shoot up to 7 ... if u want to INVEST long term, current price versus 7 attractive meh ???

Pretty & rchi, my own chart on Euro says 1.26 is target... so from USD depreciation point of view is still about 3%... USD index should drop to 86 to 87 before any meaningful bounce... which also implies, maybe ringgit may gain till 3.79 (appreciates 3 to 4%) before reverse... ECB will have decision, if they raise rates, then Euro will rally... ringgit at 3.79, will get a lot of stocks excited... and also play into good incumbent election theme...
