No liquidity but pays good dividends. I like the regular share buybacks. Recently did 2 major takeovers at excessively generous (high) prices - maybe because flushed with cash or perhaps for some other reasons that cannot be mentioned here.
I worry about China muscling in. Could this meteoric rise be akin to a supernova which explodes and then collapse? The jury is still out at this juncture.

Thanks Sheldon. I am only aware of the CCM takeover. What was the other? Fully agree with what you said. In addition, love its deep value, well managed, good corp governance, great prospects and the possibility of an impending bonus and/or rights issue. Cheers bro.

technically not BKAWAN but the other takeover Sheldon is referring to is probably the KLK takeover of IJMPLT.

Oic. But on hindsight and with the recent rise in palm oil price, thought the IJMPLT was a great buy at a good price.

i think even the most optimistic of palm oil guys didn't expect fwd price to hit RM8k this year la. so with the benefit of hindsight, the KLK guys look like geniuses la. At the point of buying everyone thought they were too generous

my view of this is that ultimately the BKAWAN and KLK family take a very long term value look at acquisitions and don't mind paying a (perceived) premium to close the deal quick.

I guess almost 80% of retail trader had missed this gem. People are busy from glove --> Tech --> Commodity -->Banks but miss this counter. I miss it.

Most know the price of everything but the value of nothing. The high absolute price level has mislead many thinking that it's overvalued not knowing it has deep value instead. It's a totally different animal now. Need to do some homework. Keep this counter for posterity. If there is a company that has everything.......good major shareholders, corp governance, prospects, dividends, financials, well managed, possible bonus issue, this is it :)

I've been buying & selling this counter for sometime. More buying so a net gradual accumulation. My earliest recorded trade was a buy @ 8.2 & a sell @ 9.52 - gives you a rough idea as to the timeframe (all after Christ btw).
This Co was making quite a profit every quarter but paying modest dividends. Imagine someone with a healthy appetite, eating away but hardly going to toilet ie constipated. Eventually he's going to grow big albeit sideways! haha.
There was a time it hovered between 17-20 & I was puzzled as to why no one was paying any attention despite a suppressed price.
Then with covid, the price went further south. I used up my ammo to pick up some more bargains.
It still looks somewhat undervalued in my opinion - thanks to lack of trading liquidity. I'm no guru btw.

So the steep fall in commodity prices is affecting the share price. Despite that the management would have hopefully locked-in future prices at much higher levels. The results for at least 2 quarters should be nothing less than awesome.
What the management could do to get the attention of the investors and prop up the share price is to declare an equally awesome dividend.

What is your logic or basis dick? When the BK is buying RM 27+. Maybe RM 6.67 will be after fat bonus [ 5x ] dividens and shares, then sure

Things are looking good. CPO Futures prices are through the roof today 24 May. Results are in line with expectation. If you consider the latest EPS of 80.3 & extrapolate to a year = 3.21. This is the highest annual (projected) EPS BK had ever registered. Perhaps they could've declared a much higher dividend than 20 sen.

Direct business transaction. Pre arranged trade between buyer and seller usually done off mkt via DBT. aka block trade. But for thinly traded counter like this where the spread is wide, can also be done on mkt.

So regret I missed this counter having been occupied in others. Can I humbly ask the gurus here is it still a screaming buy at current price? Love its fundamentals and supposed its a totally different animal than it was a year ago. Is it a fair comment?
