Someone asked me, Why anyone from India is able to build chatGPT or deepseek AI model ?

His logic was India have the best software engineers in the world 😄, so why are we not able to build an equivalent or better version of ChatGPT ?

The immediate answer I can think of is

- Our best engineers moves out to US we have CEO's of google, Microsoft and many more tech giants.

- The next layer of these smart engineers do not believe in staying in their core field. They end up building great companies like Flipkart, Zomato, Blinkit and many more. All of these have very little relation with the computer science they studied in IIT's or other colleges.

- Another generation of engineers who are not from top colleges, they end up doing sales or other jobs as their colleges hardly train them anything about engineering.

In India, only a very few of students from early school or colleges develop interest for actual engineering. They enter engineering colleges just because sharma ji ka beta has also done engineering.
