Plytec Holding bags contract to turn Sarawak into smart city

KUALA LUMPUR: ACE-market bound construction engineering solution and services group Plytec Holding Bhd, has won a contract from Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) to turn Sarawak into a smart city.

Plytec plans to list on the ACE market on November 15, 2023.

According to a statement issued by Plytec, its unit BIM Engineering Solution & Technology Sdn Bhd (BEST) secured the 42-month contract to establish a digital ecosystem in Sarawak, from SEDC's subsidiary PPES Consults Sdn Bhd.

The contract sum was not revealed.

The planned digital ecosystem will be driven by Building Information Modelling (BIM) technology, to facilitate the digital transformation of Sarawak.

The services to be provided by BEST include the standardisation of information management systems, provision of project implementation assistance, training, and capacity building to develop processes rooted in the concept of a digital twin for built assets.

SEDC is a state government agency with the primary mission of fostering and facilitating economic development within the state.
