This is my blog

Dear all,

I received the following from my WhatsApp group:

Workplace rules for happy life:

  1. Trust no one but respect everyone.
  2. What happens in office, remain office. Never take office gossips to home and vice versa.
  3. Enter office on time, leave on time. Your desktop is not helping to improve your health.
  4. Never make relationships in the work place. It will always backfire.
  5. Expect nothing. If somebody helps, feel thankful. If not, you will learn to know things on your own.
  6. Never rush for promotion. If you get promoted, congrats. If not, it doesn’t matter. You will always be remembered for your knowledge, what you gave not what you got, how many people you enriched and empowered, not for your designation
  7. Never run behind office stuff. You have better things to do in life.
  8. Avoid taking everything on your ego. Your salary matters. You are being paid. Used your asset to get happiness.
  9. It doesn’t matter how people treat you. Be humble. You are not everyone’s cup of tea.
  10. In the end nothing matters except family, friend, home and inner peace

I whatsApps back:

  • So what will matter?
  • Ready or not someday it will all come to an end.
  • There will be no more sunrises, no minutes, hours or days.
  • All the things you collected, whether treasured or forgotten, will pass to someone else.
  • Your wealth, fame and temporal power, will shrivel to irrelevance.
  • It will not matter what you owned, or what you were owed.
  • Your grudges, resentment, frustrations and jealousies will finally disappear.
  • So, too your hopes, ambitions, plans and to-do lists will expire.
  • The wins and losses that once seemed so important will fade away.
  • It won’t matter whether you were beautiful or brilliant.
  • In the end it won’t matter where you come from, or on which side of the track you lived.
  • Even you gender and skin colour will be irrelevant.
  • Then, how will the value of your days be measured? So, what will matter?
  • What will matter is not what you bought, but what you built: not what you got, but what you gave.
  • What will matter is not your success, but your significance.
  • What will matter is not what you learned, but what you taught.
  • What will matter is every act of integrity, compassion, courage or sacrifice that enriched, empowered or encouraged other to emulate your example.
  • What will matter is not your competence, but your character.
  • What will matter is not how many people you knew, but how many will feel a lasting loss when you’re gone.
  • What will matter are not your memories, but the memories that live in those who loved you.
  • What will matter is how long you will be remembered, by whom and for what.
  • Living a life matters does not happen by accident; it’s not a matter of circumstance but of choice and of much patience, perseverance and determination.
  • So Reflecting mindfully and wisely, LET US
  • .Lead a righteous life
  • .Reach out to others in need
  • .Cultivate and purify the mind
  • .Strive diligently in the Dhamma
  • .Help spread the Dhamma for the benefit and happiness of all

Thank you
