The trend of political dominance of a coalition or a party in the states of East Malaysia continues with the recently concluded Sarawak State Election. And the pattern cuts across various states in Peninsular Malaysia too. Is competitive election simply not possible in these states? What are the factors that influence their political dominance? We explore, starting with Sarawak, and then the Peninsular.
