Earlier this month, security experts from around the world converged in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur for the Asia Pacific Roundtable and the Shangri-La Dialogue, both midyear annual gatherings which have been attended by policy makers working in foreign affairs for the past 20 years. We catch up with Elina Noor, Director of Foreign Policy and Security Studies at the Institute of Strategic and International Studies, for an update about security concerns both in ASEAN and beyond.
