Sunview partners Kulim Technology Park for solar PV projects for two years

KUALA LUMPUR (March 8): Sunview Group Bhd, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Fabulous Sunview Sdn Bhd, has formed a strategic business alliance agreement with Kulim Technology Park Corp Bhd.

The agreement pertains to promoting and developing potential rooftop and large-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) projects in Kulim Hi-Tech Park (KHTP) for two years from March 8, said the group in its Bursa Malaysia filing.

The group will also be placing two electric vehicle charging stations at KHTP Business Car Park and Sunview’s signage on the rooftop of KHTP Business Centre building.

Sunview will act as a technical partner in providing services such as the installation of solar PV panels, system mechanical and electrical installation, and operations and management services.

Other services include project management and liaison with relevant authorities in adopting solar renewable energy.

The agreement will not have any effect on the share capital and shareholdings of substantial shareholders, nor will it have any material effect on the earnings per share for the financial year ending March 31, 2023.

“The agreement will not have any material effect on the net assets per share and gearing of the company for the financial year ending March 31, 2023,” added the group.

Sunview Group’s chief operating officer and executive director Charlie Chow Kian Hung said the business alliance will serve as a platform to assist more companies in the adoption of renewable energy in the park.

“In line with Malaysia Renewable Energy Roadmap of achieving 31% share of renewable energy in the national energy capacity mix by 2025, the project will enable KHTP to be in the forefront in green energy industrial park in Malaysia.

“The project is also expected to attract more foreign direct investments while creating more job opportunities for KHTP,” he added.

Sunview Group’s share price closed 2.5 sen or 3.03% higher at 85 sen, giving it a market capitalisation of RM397.8 million.
