United Plantations Appoints Former EPF Chief as Non-independent, Non-executive Director

KUALA LUMPUR (June 1): United Plantations Bhd announced the appointment of Tunku Alizakri Raja Mohd Alias as the group’s new non-independent, non-executive director, effective June 1, 2023.

Alizakri replaces Puan Rohaya binti Mohd Yusof who has resigned.

Alizakri was the chief executive officer (CEO) of the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) from August 2018 to February 2021. Prior to the CEO role, he was the deputy CEO (strategy) of EPF.

He has also held positions related to strategic planning in Bank Negara Malaysia, DiGi Telecommunications Bhd and Malayan Banking Bhd.

Currently, Alizakri is a board member of Bumi Armada Bhd and Petronas Dagangan Bhd, as well as the chairman of Malaysian Venture Capital Management Bhd (Mavcap). He also sits on the board of Malaysia Aviation Group Bhd, Malaysia Airlines Bhd, Prudential BSN Takaful Bhd and Yayasan Hasanah.

United Plantations shares closed ix sen lower, equivalent to 0.39%, at RM15.34, giving it a market capitalisation of RM6.36 billion.
