KUALA LUMPUR (July 25): Electronic gaming machine maker RGB International Bhd (KL:RGB) said on Thursday that the shutdown of offshore gaming operations in the Philippines has not impacted its business in the country.

“RGB is not affected in any way by the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (Pogos) (now known as Internet Gaming Licensees) ban,” RGB said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.

The company clarified that it has not sold any slot machines to Pogos, stressing that its slot machine sales in the Philippines are exclusively to casinos and slot club operators regulated by state-owned casino regulator Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp.

“RGB’s prospect in the Philippines remains confidently robust,” added RGB, which also operates in Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Singapore, Macau, Timor-Leste and Nepal.

Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr on Monday announced the banning of Pogos for alleged links to crimes, human trafficking and financial fraud, giving the gaming regulator until the end of this year to close these businesses.

The news resulted in RGB's share price falling to an over one-month low on Thursday. The counter closed at 42.5 sen for a market capitalisation of RM658 million.
