Welcome to CK's Mergers & Acquisitions Theme Park - The BEST Has Yet to Come!
CK>> Read few articles about F&N and also the impacts of Thailand's flood to this Malaysian food and beverage company. These articles attracted my attention and I do personally thought that it may help me to re-evaluate the value of ENG.

As we know, factories of both ENG and F&N in Thailand were closed in operations due to flood. So, many are questioning about the indemnify/compensation from their insurance companies. Here are some news about the indemnify that F&N entitled:

Beverage maker Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd (F&N) says its losses due to the Thai floods may be more than offset by a RM500 million insurance cover.

"I think the insurance coverage reimbursement is more than enough to cover our losses (in Thailand)," chief executive officer Datuk Ng Jui Sia said.

Of the RM500 million, RM380 million is expected for repair works and equipment replacement while the remainder is to cover profit loss. The indemnity period is 12 months.

CK>> I'm not really know in details on how much F&N get from insurance companies due to the losses caused by Thailand floods. But based on the articles, it seems like F&N entitled to both:
1) RM 500 million - to cover repair works, equipment replacement and profit losses???
2) RM 150 million - to cover the profit losses due to its halt of operation???

CK>> Erm... Not so sure about it. But what I know is F&N's Q4FY11 profit is only RM 66 millions. If it get RM150 million from insurance company as compensation, which is enough to cover for two quarters (6 months) of profit. Wah!!!!!! NOT TOO BAD!!!!

CK>> How about ENG???? If ENG can get compensation from its insurance companies for its after-flood repair works + equipment replacement + two quarters' profit losses... Not bad, privatisation deal should be still on-going, isn't it??? GOOD BUY??? Hahahaha....

CK>> How about if ENG never signed up any similar kind of insurance policies like what F&N did for its Thailand factories? Then, will be using only one word to describe --> GOODBYE!!!! Or two words, GOOD NITE!!!!

How can we compare chicken eggs with duck eggs? F&N and ENG are different kind of cattle and breeds. Why don't we compare Toyota with ENG?

Read carefully here and you will notice that i compared the insurance indemnify, not the companies itself... Some may ask if natural disaster like flood is entitled to indemnify or not. F&N shows that the answer is YES...

Isn't there only about 1 more week left before a decision on the takeover will be announced?
