What better place for smart gadgets than in your bathroom?

This year's Consumer Electronics Show opened to the public on Jan 7, and the array of high-tech devices, appliances, and technologies announced in the lead up to the event and on display at the conference are not limited to giant screens and innovative laptops. The following are a collection of bathroom-oriented devices designed to make the time you spend in the john a little more convenient.

Mateo smart bathroom mat

While the Mateo smart bathroom mat looks like your typical bathroom mat, it's equipped with a handful of different technologies that track health data like weight, posture and body composition. Every time the mat is stepped on, this data is recorded and can then be viewed at any time on its companion mobile application. Though the mats being demonstrated at CES are prototypes, the company has plans to launch the product by the end of the year.

Charmin Rollbot

During the press days at CES, Charmin revealed the Rollbot, a small, Bluetooth-controlled robot on wheels that can deliver a fresh toilet paper roll to bathroom-goers in need. Though this handy little device is currently just a conceptual prototype, it may some day help you out when you're stranded on the throne.

Y-brush

After making an appearance at last year's conference with their in-development 10-second teeth cleaner, the Y-Brush, FasTeesH came back to the 2020 conference to show off the final, retail version of this retainer-shaped teeth cleaner. The device uses sonic vibrating tech to deep-clean teeth extremely quickly. Basically, you turn it on, put it in your mouth, chew it for five seconds, flip the device over and repeat. The Y-Brush is now available for an on-sale price of US$125 .

Colgate Plaqless Pro smart electric toothbrush

With plans to launch the device later this year, Colgate announced at CES the Plaqless Pro smart electric toothbrush. This toothbrush pairs with a smartphone via a mobile app which shows users where in their mouth they need to focus on brushing and offers them information on their dental health. The Plaqless Pro is slated to launch later this year.

Oral-B iO

Like Colgate, Oral-B also brought a smart toothbrush to display at CES 2020: the Oral-B iO. This electric toothbrush with seven different modes claims to offer users an enjoyable brushing experience while also tracking their dental health with AI. No release information has been revealed.

All products will be on display at CES 2020 which takes place from Jan 7 to Jan 10.
