Over the past day, the highest-trending question asked related to Covid-19 news on Google Search was "How many children have died from coronavirus?"

The following are the highest-trending Covid-19 questions worldwide (excluding the United States) that were asked in Google Search over the last 24 hours:

How many children have died from coronavirus?

While it's been suggested that Covid-19 affects children less than any other age group, a small percentage of those aged 0 to 19 succumb to the illness. While this information is difficult to track because the number of cases is so small, WorldOMeter.org estimates that of all people from 10 to 19 who contracted the virus, 0.02% will die, whereas people from 0 to 9 are all, on average, expected to survive.

Most recently, the CDC reported in April that only 3 Covid-19 pediatric cases worldwide resulted in death. Since then, however, NBC announced that three children in New York have died from an illness expected to have originated from the virus.

Is coronavirus a pandemic?

On March 11, the World Health Organization declared Covid-19 a pandemic.

How does the coronavirus spread?

The CDC reports that Covid-19 spreads "Between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet or 1.8m)" via "respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs, sneezes or talks."

How many people in the world have died from coronavirus?

According to The New York Times, as of today at 12:17am ET (12:17pm, Malaysia), about 285,600 people have died worldwide from Covid-19.
