LONDON Britain will not send a representative to a swearing in ceremony for Russian President Vladimir Putin over the war in Ukraine, the foreign ministry said on Monday, much like most of the European Union states.
"The UK will not field a representative at the Inauguration of President Vladimir Putin, due to take place tomorrow (May 7th). Russia’s assault on Ukraine is an unprovoked, premeditated, and barbaric attack against a sovereign democratic state," a spokesperson for the foreign ministry said.
"The UK condemns the Russian government’s reprehensible actions, which are an egregious violation of international law and the UN Charter."
