As a strong supporter of Pakatan Harapan, I am feeling so sad and disgusted that I have to write this article.

The photo shows that Tun Dr Mahathir was holding my Rm 200,000 cheque donation for the last general election. Besides my financial support, I had campaigned for all the 4 component political parties of Pakatan Harapan in 11 locations in Perak.

On 13 Feb 2019, The Star reported the Perak MB awarded the 400ha of forest land for development to a company with a paid-up capital of only RM2 was not done through an open tender, says Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu.

He said the company was given the approval to go ahead with the project through the Perak Forestry Committee taskforce, of which he, as the Mentri Besar, was chairman.

The members of the taskforce, he said, include the director and deputy director of the state Forestry Department, as well as state executive councillors Paul Yong Choo Kiong and Asmuni Awi.

Perak Umno asked the state government how a company with a paid-up capital of only RM2 could be awarded the project, and if an open tender was called.

Kampar MP Thomas Su lodging a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on the alleged irregularities involving the project.

If the Perak Forestry Committee taskforce has the power to award 400 ha of forest land without open tender to a Rm 2 company, it can award a lot more forest land to their cronies.

It is terribly depressing when one reads headlines like Perak, the second poorest state next to Kelantan.

What has happened to the richest town and state in Malaya?

It was the Kinta Valley that financed much of the infrastructure of Malaya. There were more Rolls Royces per capita in Ipoh than any other place. The first car in Malaya was bought by an Ipoh person. That was why Perak car numbers start with A.

At one time, Malaysia was the biggest producer of Tin, Rubber and Palm Oil. Besides these, we also have petroleum.

We all know the tin market fell through the floor. But that is not the only cause of our down fall. The biggest culprit is that most of our political leaders were corrupted and inefficient.

Countries like Singapore, Taiwan and South Korea did not even have timber to build their houses could become a fully developed nations while Malaysia is still not a developed Nation.

When Pakatan Harapan won the last general election, I thought after getting rid of the previous corrupted BN Government, our political leaders could play catch up. But that is not the case.

For my part in helping Pakatan Harapan win in the last GE, I was nominated to be one of the economy advisers of Perak. But the MB unilaterally stopped my appointment without reference to the State Exco, because he does not want me to pasang kaki.
