During 1970s I was extremely busy in doing business. Almost every day I was flying to KL, Sabah, Singapore and Hong Kong to do business. I started to have breathing difficulty and soon I found small lump of growth on my elbows and knees. I went to see Dr Majumdar, a shin specialist who was working in Ipoh General Hospital. I asked Dr Majumdar if she could remove them. She took some blood for testing and told me to see her again when she had the blood test result. She said you might be shocked to know that those lumps were Xanthomas which indicated that I had a high cholesterol disease called hyperlipidaemia.
I have an inherited a high cholesterol disease called hyperlipidaemia from my mother who died at the age of 39 when I was 10 years old. All my siblings who have inherited this disease also have died around 40 years old.
My body produces a lot more cholesterol than normal people. In 1983 my younger sister and I had great difficulty in breathing. In fact, we were having mild heart attacks. Immediately we flew to Harley Street Clinic, London for heart bypass surgery. At that time there was no open-heart bypass surgery in Malaysia.
After our heart surgery, we were told that our life expectancy would be very short unless we change our diet and our life style. Unfortunately, my sister who had her bypass surgery at the same time with me, died within 2 years.
Wow!!! My turn will be soon. What can I do to prolong my life???
When I wake up in the morning, I drink 2 glasses of water and eat about 1/3 of a pineapple. I will add some honey if the pineapple is not sweet. I do not eat anything until lunch time. I eat more fish and vegetables than red meat. I do not have constipation. I do not have any sickness, ache and pain in the last 20 or more years.
What a Geriatrician told me
About 3 years ago, my old doctor friend died and at the wake, I met his son in law who is a Geriatrician. He asked me how did I manage to live so healthy and strong although I am older than his father-in-law. I told him about my habit of drinking water and eating pineapple on an empty stomach.
He told me that pineapple has a lot of medicinal value and if I continue to eat medicine every day, I cannot get sick.
Here are 8 impressive health benefits of pineapple.

An abstractTrusted Source reported that bromelain (which is found in pineapple) was effective at treating cardiovascular diseases, such as peripheral artery disease, stroke, heart attack, and high blood pressure.
Bromelain inhibits the ability of blood platelets to stick or clump together (aggregation). This may help reduce clot formation and cardiovascular events.
