Important to point out that all steel stocks except Hiap Teck reported their results for quarter ending June. Hiap Teck reported its result for quarter ending April. It will announce its result for quarter ending July before end of September which should another record profit.

Among all the stock selection criteria such as NTA, cash flow, balance sheet, debt, cash rich, EPS etc the most important consideration is profit growth prospect. Only profit growth can push up the share price. For example, almost all the property development companies are selling below their NTA but their share prices continue to drop because they do not have profit growth. Always there are more sellers than buyers.

Profit growth is the most powerful catalyst to push up share price.

Only steel stocks which has good profit growth will continue to go up. All the steel stocks which reported reduced profit will continue to drop.

I took the trouble to tabulate all the listed steel stocks for comparison as shown below to help investors.

Dear Mr Koon Yew Yin,

Steel stocks may or may not rise, as the steel price in China is not promising

What will definitely be better 6 to 12 months down the line is Genting (3182). Think about it, what can be worse than it is now

It is time to invest in a non-cyclical stock

Genting will go on a multi-year supersycle SUPERBULL run, just like it had from Mar 2009 to Jan 2011 after the recession

Sincerely,
EMSVSI

What a silly method to determine the buying rationale. Even newbies with some knowledge can do better. It just goes to show how silly the Geezer is in trying to justify his margin trades. Apart from EPS, please open your eyes to the huge debts and equity that some of these companies have that is being promoted. Savvy investors will look at every detail including the ability of the company to pay decent dividend and the possibility of the company rewarding loyal shareholders with bonus issues. With so little knowledge and yet so bold to borrow like no tomorrow to punt the market. Bo kia si.

This HIAPTEK counter must fast in fast out. Every time it goes up a little, it will very fast go back to the original buying price.

Not very convincing actually. Take a simple analysis of Leonfb, the operating profit is actually increased slightly . Not as what Mr KYY claimed.

Why write a lot?
Kyy mahu jual kepada yang tamak. Nanti kena tipu oleh Kyy lagi.

Misleading again for the Prestar(bonus 3 for 5) and Astino(4 for 5). The EPS of PRESTAR & ASTINO were pre bonus level. The share price for Astino & Prestar should convert to Pre bonus as such.

Prestar share price is 76cent x 1.6 =RM1.216
Astino share price is 72.5cent x 1.8 =RM1.305

Moreover, all the steel stocks have different "EPS calculation date" of their respective quarterly financial result. Some steel stocks latest EPS report from Feb to May & others from Mar to June. As we know we have many MCOs, e.g. FMCO starts in June, maximum man capacity is 60%. At different condition of MCOs, this EPS comparison is misleading again.

Different "EPS calculation date" also create another misleading due to changing in steel price.
