Previous SARS outbreak lasted less than 2 years.

The 2002–2004 outbreak of SARS, caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV or SARS-CoV-1), infected over 8,000 people from 29 different countries and territories, and resulted in at least 774 deaths worldwide. The outbreak was first identified in Foshan, Guangdong, China, in November 2002. The World Health Organization (WHO) was notified of the outbreak in February 2003, and issued a global alert in March 2003. Initially, the cause of the outbreak was unknown, and some media outlets reported that an influenza virus was a potential culprit. The major part of the outbreak lasted about 8 months, and the World Health Organization declared SARS contained on 5 July 2003. However, several SARS cases were reported until May 2004.

Covid 19 pandemic 

In late December 2019, SARS-CoV-2, a new strain of coronavirus closely related to the one that caused SARS, was discovered in Wuhan, Hubei, China. The new strain causes COVID-19, a disease which has since spread worldwide, leading to an ongoing pandemic that has killed millions.

Currently there are 431 million Covid 19 cases and 5.93 deaths in the world. USA, India, Brazil, France and UK are the 5 countries which have the most Covid 19 cases as you can see the table below: 

Covid 19 Vaccines

The COVID‑19 vaccines are widely credited for their role in reducing the severity and death caused by COVID‑19. Many countries have implemented phased distribution plans that prioritize those at highest risk of complications, such as the elderly, and those at high risk of exposure and transmission, such as healthcare workers.

As of 10 February 2022, 10.32 billion doses of COVID‑19 vaccines have been administered worldwide based on official reports from national public health agencies. By December 2020, more than 10 billion vaccine doses had been pre-ordered by many countries around the world.

Omicron is a blessing in disguise because it can boost immunity against infection.  

As omicron sickens millions of Americans, some disease experts are peering into the future, speculating that the massive winter wave of infections from this new coronavirus variant might produce something beneficial in the long run. They note that omicron, while stunningly contagious, appears less likely to send someone to the hospital. The variant’s extraordinary transmissibility could boost immunity as it rips through the population and once this tide of cases has ebbed, make the pandemic a less dangerous health emergency.   

Vaccines and Omicron are working so effectively.

Both the Vaccines and Omicron have been preventing the spread of the coronavirus so effectively. As a result, the number of daily new Covid 19 cases in each of the 5 countries which have the most cases, has been reducing so rapidly as you can from the charts below. 

On 10 January, US had 1.434 million new cases and on 24 Feb US had 73.392 new cases as shown on the 2 charts below. Number of new cases has dropped so rapidly in the last 5 weeks that I can foresee the Covid 19 pandemic is ending. 

On 21 January, India had 337,704 new cases and on 24 Feb India had 13,166 new cases as shown on the 2 charts below. Number of new cases has dropped so rapidly in the last 1 month that I can foresee the Covid 19 pandemic is ending. 

On 27 January, Brazil had 229,702 new cases and on 24 Feb Brazil had 95,899 new cases as shown on the 2 charts below. Number of new cases has dropped so rapidly in the last 1 month that I can foresee the Covid 19 pandemic is ending. 

On 25 January, France had 501,635 new cases and on 24 Feb France had 66,700 new cases as shown on the 2 charts below. Number of new cases has dropped so rapidly like coconut in the last 1 month that I can foresee the Covid 19 pandemic is coming to an end. 

On 4 January, UK had 221,222 new cases and on 24 Feb UK had 66,700 new cases as shown on the 2 charts below. The number of new cases has dropped so rapidly in the last 6 or 7 weeks that I can safely say that the Covid 19 pandemic is coming to an end.

After you have read my analysis, almost all of you are convinced that the Covid 19 pandemic is ending. However, I am obliged to inform you of the number of daily new Covid 19 cases in Malaysia. As shown on the above chart, Malaysia is probably the only country in the world where the number of daily new Covid 19 cases is rising. On 24 Feb Malaysia has 32,070 new cases. But I believe the number of daily new cases will drop quite rapidly like any of the 5 countries as I mentioned above.  

As you know the Covid 19 pandemic has been affecting everybody and our livelihood in the last 2 years. Almost all investors have been losing money and many have lost their employment. In any case, we should be more optimistic to make ourselves happy. Best wishes to all my readers.
