I was the Malaysia Master Builders Association Secretary General for 9 years. Although I have retired, I am still in touch with the construction developers and contractors. I know Malaysia needs a lot more foreign workers in the construction and many other industries. You can see most of the workers in the construction industry are foreign workers and almost all the workers in the oil palm estates are foreign workers. In fact many constructions have stopped work because contractors could find workers. Under the existing rules, employment of foreign workers is very cumbersome.

Our new Minister of Labour should have an advisory committee to advise him. Committee members should be representatives from the construction industry, planation sector, products manufacturers, finance, small and medium industries etc.

Foreign workers in Malaysia – A ladder to economic growth

Malaysia, a south East Asian nation has already earned the reputation for their fast growing economy in world business. When analyzed the core source of this rapidly growing economy, it has been seen that the country mostly relies on labor forces. Along with native workforces, the country welcomes a huge number of foreign workers in Malaysia to develop and strengthen the national infrastructures.

Foreign workers put a big footprint on this vast economic development in Malaysia. In current date each international worker in Malaysia contributes their utmost efforts and skills to build up the Malaysian economy, as a result, placing the nation to a state of appreciation before many other developing nations.

Our new government must formulate new policy to facilitate the employment of foreign workers.

The rising demand for foreign manpower never decreases as most industries in Malaysia specifically the manufacturing industry needs a systematic and cohesive team to achieve their targeted output. Therefore, recruiting foreign workers are beneficial in terms of costs and work completion efficiency.

The Advantages of Using Foreign Labour

The rising demand for foreign manpower never decreases as most industries in Malaysia specifically the manufacturing industry needs a systematic and cohesive team to achieve their targeted output. Therefore, recruiting foreign workers are beneficial in terms of costs and work completion efficiency.

One of the major perks of hiring foreign labourers / manpower is that the cost of hiring is undoubtedly reasonable and with the price comes an amazing team of individuals as a backbone in lifting up the whole manufacturing industry. Therefore, Malaysian employers are most likely to pick foreign workers over domestic workers, in the notion of being able to save up on wages expenses.

Nonetheless, foreign workers productivity is undoubtedly proven by the increasing demand in the need of foreign workers. Factories and organizations claim to witness foreign employee’s ability, of producing a larger amount of output in comparison to local employees, despite them having a constrained duration.

How to Pick the Best Foreign Worker for Your Needs

There are many different types of foreign workers that companies can hire. From skilled workers to general workers/manpower, there is a wide range of options for every business. When hiring a foreign worker, companies should have a detailed understanding of the candidate’s skill sets and their specific needs. This will help in shortlisting candidates and building a better rapport between the employer and the potential employee.

Companies should get detailed information about the job before approaching any agencies to recruit foreign workers. They should also get clear feedback from their existing workforce about what they need in an employee. To find the best fit, companies should consider who they need and what they need them to do as well as where they need them to work. All this will help them pick the best match for their company needs.

Practical Guides on Hiring Foreigners for Your Business

Employing a foreigner for your business is a decision that can have a significant impact on the quality of your work. For this reason, many companies in Malaysia hire foreign workers from countries with a history of high-quality work ethic.

In the past, hiring foreigners was only possible for big companies with lots of resources to spare. But now there are more options for startups and SMEs to take advantage of these opportunities. At the same time, there are some challenges that Malaysians have to deal with in hiring foreigners.
